Banned 2 accounts that relate to a guy associated with fraud on a few other cycling sites. It's basically pre-emptive because the fraud has appeared on more than 1 other site, and it's solidarity as I believe that it is the wider cycling community that is intolerant of fraud rather than 1 specific website.

This is an exceptional thing, as usually I've taken the stance that I only act on things that happen on LFGSS and not further afield. I'm not going to make such an exception the norm, it takes someone committing fraud on more than 1 site to trigger this kind of co-ordinated action across multiple sites.

A question: skylark... general view on him?

He seems to have not understood at all what LFGSS is about and how it's run, and since he's been on the site he's very much in the habit of pinging off reports on pretty much everything hoping that I will go and police the forum to be the way he wants it.

Today he issued a missive complaining about hippy, and demanding this, that and the other. My view of this is that if any action at all is going to be taken it's just going to be to ban skylark permanently to get rid of the annoyance which is silly reported posts by skylark.

So basically... does skylark bring the kind of value to LFGSS that would suggest that he shouldn't be put out of his misery?

I would say just ban skylark, multiple times he's thrown your name (Velocio) around saying he'll be having words with you about this and that. He seems to be here to prosper and his attitude kind of stinks.

I don't think he will be a great loss to the forum....

skylark's becoming a bit weird, demanding full disclosure of contact details of all moderators and such.

Hell, mods do virtually nothing on this site but merge threads.

skylark mostly strikes me as a harmless middle-England letter writer... angry from Doncaster. It's mostly that he seems to be coming off the rails that concerns me, and when he starts making unjustified attacks on someone like hippy (who gives far more than anyone could ever expect for virtually nothing at all) then I'm very much of a mind to take away skylark's pen to halt his letter writing madness.

That's classic... skylark has been a busy man.

The great thing about just asking what people think of him is that ultimately we're all bastards, but if you're a prolific letter writing bastard then you leave behind a whole trail of evidence of that fact, whereas the rest of us can at least give the temporary illusion that we might not wholly be bastards.
