Can we do something to make the EU declaration thread more prominent?
It's been there since November as a sticky, I don't think anyone notices it much now.
A new thread with your email would be good I think David.
yes, I was going to copy and paste some replies from MEP's saying they'd signed it so efforts could be more focused....

needs to be opened up for BLB to respond to
This thread was closed for two reasons:
- a user posted my real name, although this was withdrawn after I requested that the user edit their comment. it was also reported
- it was getting out of hand; what was a bit of banter and mickey-taking was fast becoming nasty
- a user was sharing knowledge of my purchases on ebay
- the same user was posting comments that could be interpreted as threatening, this is in relation to the comments 'i have his name and flickr account'.
I understand that this thread may need to be reopened to give BLB the chance to respond to three things that have been said against them:
- misselling goods - track or road frame and forks
- accepting cash in addition to a 'Cyclescheme' voucher
- grossly overpricing their stock
I only joined the forum after BLB recommended it as i am keen to sell my bike. Naively, i did not read the rules with regards to selling. I quickly withdrew my post here, and issued an apology. The thread just degenerated from there.

Thread closing is to indicate a sold item, not to give you a way to limit the discussion.
As for your reasons:
#1 A quick Google of kukusi reveals your name. You put this info in the public domain and can't then demand it's removal elsewhere, that's just not how it works.
#2 No it wasn't. People used swear words in that thread like they use banter down the pub. Read it again in that light and it's obvious people are mucking around, part aghast at what you paid, but mostly looking out for you and wanting to avoid whatever shop sold you that bike under false claims.
#3 Relates to #1. eBay is a public website, the info is public, and as you already share that info you cannot then control it. Lesson here: Don't put anything online you don't want people to see, and assume that everything you put online is public: What goes on the internet, stays on the internet.
#4 Yeah, prancer is a twat at times and doesn't know when to shut up, nor how to not be thuggish in his language. But he is harmless. Wouldn't hurt a fly. Man up and ignore it.
Anyway, thread open again.
Oh, and you requested account deletion. I can do that for you if you want, but you also requested post and thread deletion, but I won't do that. At the bottom of this page on the left you'll see a creative commons logo... what you posted on here, as per the user agreement when you signed up, is covered by a CC license. It remains public and shared. If you want to have your account deleted, then it's up to you to edit your posts prior to the deletion otherwise they will stay as they are post-account-deletion.

Thanks for clearing that up Velocio.
Whichever way you look at it, dragging PD info into this thread amounted to a misguided public flogging, publishing PD info here changes it's context and is a pretty flagrant (if fun at the time) way to reappropriate what is public info. On the receiving end, it felt like harassment. I was just trying to sell a bike.
That said, there have since been more rational and constructive comments from considerate users, especially now we've all had our fun about my shocking naivety. I understand the importance of making such a freaking din to scare off genuine scammers and piss takers.
Aside from quoting my mates opinion about how he perceives BLB, I hadn't slighted BLB in anyway on my post. Simply stated the facts (as yet unproven on this forum), with regards to the costs, which are in black and white and on an official printed receipt and the 'Cyclescheme' deal. The only bit that's harder to sort is about track frame/race frame, that will only ever be a pretty fruitless 'you said/he said' debate.
Bottom line: buyer beware. Good for BLB if they can get away with those prices, isn't it one of the basic premises of how capitalism works in a free market society?
and yeah, my missus told me to walk away hours ago before she went to bed. I never bloody learn to listen...

My missus also is always right on such things. I never listen, always bloody my nose.
Your bike has quality parts, if you want to recover as much of the value as possible the thing to do would be to split it all up. But maybe it's become such a nightmare that you don't want to expend the time and energy for that.
You could just ride it. I'd change the bar tape and put the saddle at the right angle. It may not be "pure" in terms of aesthetics and pedigree (i.e. a track bike, if that's what you were looking for), but Rossin do good frames, and whilst mis-matched you've got good components on there... so I'm sure you'd enjoy the ride anyway.
Don't let the feckers on here get you down.
Oh, and if you are going to go shopping: Tokyo Fixed Gear will take care of you, as would Brixton Cycles, Shop 14, etc.
For what I guess you're looking for, I would probably do Tokyo Fixed Gear in Soho. Speak to Max and let him know that I recommended him (use my name, forum admin, etc) and tell him what happened and could you set him straight with the right bike and straight talking. He's a good guy.

Sound advice all 'round, thank you. Most priceless of all, yet hardest to adhere to; listen to the misuss.
Everything else i can sort. -

Kukusi, there's no point to leave the forum now. What was done, was done.
You have had some bad time, because nobody believed in authenticity of your claim.
If you were really sold that bike by BLB, then you should stay - sell the parts and frame, get some advice and build your next bike yourself. -

Dear Mr X
There was no threat. You had asked me to edit your name out of the post which I did. However due to the nature of the posts and that we were unsure that you were genuine I thought it best that people were aware that if needed we had some of your details.
I am sorry that you left your details up on flickr and ebay, and that you felt threatened by me finding them. Discovering them was not exactly difficult, they were on your ebay link and on your flickr page, so in many ways it was a pointless exercise for me to withdraw them.
There were no threats in any of the language used. I am sorry you felt threatened.
Hope you find a happy solution. I would be going back to BLB and demanding they take the frame back as it was clearly sold falsely, trade it for a track frame.

Too late to talk to BLB.

• #2391
Yep
Just seen he has had it for a year.
-
• #2392
So word of advice then - people, don't call frames NOS when they were build up already; don't charge for a bike you were using for a year the same price you were charged.
Until next time, take care of yourselves and each other.

slaying an old road frame?
He has already - belt and braces is good though as it's so important.
