It's one of those things where you (I) don't really think about it because it's just linguistics and it doesn't really matter but then if someone else is bothered by it for very valid reasons then I'm also not bothered by it being different and also am slightly more aware of my privilege in that area so it's obviously a good thing to change.

While the on the subject, I've never been comfortable with how freely people were happy to use the n-word. Regardless of the context, I find it deeply offensive and made a point of mentioning it in the BLM thread. Admittedly it's not been used since a user kicked up a fuss and was deleted when they gave the ultimatum of "delete the comment or delete my account"

I'm still fine with using words in their correct context, although I'd really struggle to find a correct context for the n word coming out of my mouth. As far as slave goes I have no problem talking about it as a word but I can see why someone wouldn't want it as a throwaway term to describe a bike in a thread title and there aren't really any downsides to changing it.
