• He means this thread, specifically, which is dual purpose: https://www.lfgss.com/thread88589.html

• I'm not talking abou the rider down forum, I'm talking, solely, about the forum rider down thread, which is a lot of chat with sensitive info regarding forumers exclusively, which I think would be better off private, as why should anyone not on the forum need access to it?
Just a reminder to people that this is a public forum and the drivers registration is posted above.

Why isn't forum rider down thread in private!?
• He's talking about this particular thread:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread88589.html

I don't think it should be private as then it will fall outside of Rider Down subforum.
There is nothing to stop people starting another thread for legal advice in a private subforum if they think that thread is too public.

• ^ That.

• Is there a way of making a thread private/hidden within a sub forum?

• No, the visibility of a thread follows the forum visibility.

We used to have a hack to do this, but it didn't scale with the site.

• Ah right, well, doesn't matter that much, it was just thinking about drivers finding discussions of incidents involving themselves through google and any related consequences... I thought there might be a bit of wizardry you could do to hide the thread while keeping it in the same sub forum.

Do not post details of the driver (Name/licence plate etc).
Avoid making libelous posts.
Never discuss anything which may affect the outcome of a future court case.

• I always ignore the get daily screen, where are people posting these days?

• What's the get daily screen, by the way?

• I suspect that means 'Today's posts' which does show ignored threads

• A propos of nothing, has skydancer posted anything today?

• Spooky!

I still have to put up with the reminder that they're still there.
