  • This just means that I'll now wait until you hit your target before contributing though.

  • I'm quite far from my target: https://believe.in/fundraising/DavidKitchen/319

You can tell who your real friends are ;-)

  • I thought Clive that you were going to your money where your keyboard is.

  • "Hit your target, tags on.
Double your target, tags off. Its a big game of chicken."

Pardon my ignorance... What the fuck is tags, and (why) is it a bad thing?

  • They allow anonymous trolling and if used incorrectly can cause the servers the forum is hosted on to meltdown.

  • Do you take charity cheques?

Serious question as I have a charities account which means each £100 to charity costs me just under £30 to give.

    See the polo sub-forum.

    I want you accountant!

What is a charities account and how do you get one?

He's not even a real accountant, he just pretends to be one on the internet so people will want to have sex with him. Looks like it's worked again :(

    1. Write a charity cheque to yourself.
    2. Deposit cheque into the same account that you drew it on.
    3. Profit

(At least until the Bank of England discovers that sterling has been completely devalued.)

    Reped!

  • They allow fun trolling and help searches but the cheap and nasty code breaks if there's lots of them added at once.

  • ^It seemed to work quite effectively on tag friday. I realised what was going on too late so instead of being able to add to the mayhem had to scroll through tags for 30 mins to get to the bottom of the page.

  • Tags are for cunts

  • So are scales.

  • Tags are misused by cunts

Tax relief applied to charity donations? Essentially by giving £100, he saves £70 of tax giving a net cost of £30 for the donation?

    Smells iffy anyway.

  • Really? Tags. Again.
If they must be brought back can I please request that they are at no point added to Forum 40.

    Thanks.

No, Charities cheques are from an account you fund from payroll giving pound matched from your employer and deducted pre tax so for a Higher rate tax payer £60 would put £200 in the account. Cheques can only be written to registered UK charities. It also means that after a few months of not sending charity money anyone it is easy to have enough sitting in the account to have tags back and removed again.
