I think both individuals make valid points, but both also indulge in childish prodding and poking. It's never reached dj levels of defensive can't-leave-it-alone-ness, but it often comes close.

It would be fantastic if either party could formulate a post that doesn't contain an explicit or implicit character assassination.

We should continue to have healthy dialogue about forum protocol. That's not in question. But those of us with a healthy post-count i.e. those who are perceived as having a bigger stake in the forum than the average poster, need to keep our in-fighting playful, as much for the benefit of onlookers as ourselves.

Have i ever said that David couldn't close the cap thread or the Torm thread?
If a thread is open then discussion is welcomed.
Likewise, if a thread is on the main forum then it's there for discussion purposes.

The Grobags thread is a classifieds thread, in the classified section...I didn't start it to enter into pages of discussion, I started it to sell bags. I have the right to close the thread, which i did...not to try and pervert the course of justice as is being implied on here...not to prevent people slagging off what i do...I closed it because I no longer make Archie's Grobags...they are no longer for sale.
The fact that other people have 'discussed' on there is not anything i have control over, but it is still no different to people discussing the items for sale on ANY other classifieds thread...all of which the starters are entitled to close...regardless of what 'discussions' have taken place on there...RIGHT?
Why my thread is suddenly being treated differently i don't know.
If you actually bother to look through the thread you'll find pretty much nothing but 'for sale' lists, new products available and information about who's bags are ready...discussion made up probably ten percent at most...again, no different to anybody elses classifieds threads.
I have chosen to make a few final announcements about future plans and to leave contact details...that's all. Hence why i then returned it to closed.

As Davids pointless 'Archie's Grobags discussion thread' showed yesterday, people aren't as interested in discussing the bags anymore as he would like everybody to believe, and i stand by my comments that what i was doing wasn't upsetting anybody else or causing any problems to anybody but David.

I'm through with the subject now.
The new 'merged' thread is open now so you can all feel free to have all those lengthy discussions that you've all apparently been dying to have over the last week or so that the thread has been closed.
