-
• #10728

-
• #10729
Yes, plz.
-
• #10730
What would you recomend it's called tomorrow?
-
• #10731
The thread to post in two days after Thatcher's death?
-
• #10732
Ok I think you're spending to much time with slain.
-
• #10733
Why not just call it
Thatcher's dead, here's a thread for all the embittered socialists to post in.
Works for me.

• #10734
Or Just Thatchers dead. Sarky trolls welcome, come get owned.
-
• #10735
How about:
Margaret thatcher is dead. Woot.Or just leave it as it is... It's not like the Olympics thread only got comments while the Olympics was on.

I don't know what his actions warrant, but his first five posts consist of him advertising his ebay auction across a variety of threads http://www.lfgss.com/member39508.html

Back to nergers...
A chart showing the effect of the top 30 nergers:
Effectively, 5 people produce over 95% of the nergs on the forum and skew everyone's reputation score. The left axis shows the sum of negative reputation score given, and the bottom axis, each point represents a single user. One individual has given just under 18,000 negative reputation points.
For the entire other ~35,000 members, nergs are not abused and would be a reasonable tool for the classifieds were the effect of the top 5 nergers removed from the equation.
So I'm seriously considering removing all nergs ever created by the top 5 nergers, and then just silently making it so that the reputation for those 5 users is only ever positive. Doing so would leave some value in the reputation system for those using classifieds.

Could that be automated though? That is, if the system is to be taken over to Microcosm.

marks off for not labeling axis of graph.

• #10741
18,000 neg points? How many individual nergs achieved that?
-
• #10742
nerged also
-
• #10743
The top 5 nergers values:
-17544
-13695
-12476
-7923
-5865Basically the top nerger has left negative rep of almost 18k reputation points, the next top nerger almost 14k, etc.
The average total reputation score on the forum for the top 2,000 active members is only 172... so the effect of the nergers is really dramatic.

Can we have a list of the top 5 nergers please or shall we subject them to idle speculation?

so is it 1 point per nerg? That's got to be more than their actual post count?

18,000 neg points? How many individual nergs achieved that?
119, by a user who is considered influential by the system.
Interestingly, the 2nd most top nerger made 170 nergs to subtract ~14k rep points from others.
Which shows how much strange math is in there to determine influence.

so is it 1 point per nerg? That's got to be more than their actual post count?
I expect it is calculated using some sort of algorithm based on posts and +/- comments
-
• #10748
And as percentages... the top nerger only nergs 10% of the time, whereas the second most nerger nergs 40% of the time.
-
• #10749
Any way of showing how many of the nergs were contained to the football thread, and the polo forum?
