  • Hey Tom, OSR had to tell me who you were, it was good riding with you sir. How did you find it?

Hard, particularly the fact it was overnight. Fun though. I keep meaning to write a bit of a report but I'm being hampered by laziness and not remembering who anyone is as usual.

  • We can help you with the bits you're fuzzy on. That couple on the tandem, for instance, that was ChainBreaker and Fruitbat.

  • lol!!!

  • hey, did anyone find a pair of Asda reader specs I left on Dunwich beach?

  • Before & after shots of team "Dulwich to Dunwich" and i honestly think we look better after the ride... !!!
The last 20 mile did hurt a wee bit, but all in all was pretty awesome, we did take it rather easy with a few jars en'route bla bla.

Lovely catching up with OSR/Skully/CityGent/Chainbuster apres ride, dan le pub!
Sorry so brief though, had a ride waiting to take me home express style....

Is the last one the one i took? I really like it esp the a light lean?

Good seeing you at the end sniffy:-)

  • ^ Aye, haha you have good camera skillz. Thank you :-)

  • No worries :-) Anything to help remember these moments!

  • Hmmmm, your flip-flops did that job nicely ;-P

  • Walking GAP advert!

  • Now its GAP? Its getting worse! You thought Celvin Klien originally... But i guess that was because you were sleep deprived;-)

A compliment like that from you is a big compliment! Cheers!

  • That was awesome! First time I ever did the Dunwich Dynamo - and I did it on the tandem with my girl too!

We only decided to do it after it stopped raining at about 7pm so it was a bit of a mad dash to get everything together for the ride but set off around about 9pm from London Fields and thoroughly enjoyed it.The best bit however was after getting to the beach and sleeping for a couple of hours a very generous couple gave us and the tandem a lift all the way back to Hackney! Marvellous!

Funniest moment for me was when lying on the beach listening to a bunch of older chaps discussing the virtues of buying shoes from the pamphlets out of the Sunday Telegraph. They also stated to their wives that had come to pick them up - despite the ride starting in hackney there were some 'thouroughly decent people' on the ride.

I'd have to agree with them - thanks everyone for making the DD a brilliant experience!!

  • ^^ hmmm I said CK? Delirious with exhaustion for sure! Just kidding, I saw sweat pants, vest and flip flops and was just jealous you looked so clean and comfy.

What tandem were you on botoxking? You guys were pretty lucky!

^That. I didn't manage to get my kit off until about 2pm ;-]

  • well done everybody.

    i am very impressed.

and some of you rode back as well.

    big effort.

  • Thanks everyone for an amazing ride - great support and camaraderie throughout! I'm not sure I'll be able to look at a Mini Egg again, mind.

Well done Leo on an epic endeavor. Don't let the ballbags get you down or something like that, although I'm sure you wouldn't anyway.

Thanks so much to Jaitch, Katie and all involved in organising the coach and the related logisticals - it all worked out so smoothly.

Hopefully see you all around at some other events soon.

  • That was the best DD I have ever done.
All week I thought it was going to be like the hell-ride of 2007 but thankfully the rain stopped at around 6:30 and never came back.

Kris and I rode this mainly by ourselves, occasionally I'd drop a glow-stick in the dark.
Got to the food stop while it was quiet, ate and left before it got too crowded.

The sunrise was pink, I have never seen one like that before.

In the morning after breakfast we rode on to Lowestoft.
We drank beer on the promenade in the glorious sunshine and ate Subway, caught the train home.

    Great night of riding.

  • Who would be up for doing DD the revenge?

Get a train out to nearby in the afternoon, cycle to the beach, eat a hearty meal at the pub and set off to come home at around 7 or 8 pm.?

Myself and Citygent were discssing this the other day, you get all the good stuff -seaside, ride etc) but when it finishes you are near your house, can get clean, have a bite to eat and curl up in crisp sheets without waiting ages.

The main differences would be fewer cyclists, the lack of feed stop. But as we start to approach London in the morning I believe the service stations etc would be open so it would not be such a problem.

Also people have hopefully now realised, the contents of a nuclear fallout shelter do not need to be strapped to your bike for a 120 mile pootle.

  • ...occasionally I'd drop a glow-stick in the dark.....
HA!!!! It was you John!!! This makes me smile:-) Like bread crumbs to the rest of us!

Why not ride back during daylight hours and get to actually appreciate all the beautiful scenery you go past?

  • I'm actually not a fan of the route during the day. Lots of busy B-roads.

  • Roads are roads...It's the scenery either side that does it for me.

This - I knew someone was doing it on purpose!

I'd love to do it again but don't think I could keep up with you guys.
