Impressed by that under-saddlebag bottle cage, not seen one of those before.

In Shepherds bush also, 5.30 sounds good as I was hoping to get up there earlyish. Fancy meeting at the shed on the corner of the green opposite the Defectors Weld?
Fine with me...

So i spent last night tightening, polishing, packing, arranging, oiling, proofiding, truing, lubing and anything else i've forgotten to mention and here we are in DD setup;

Iain you are massively overpacking. It's just a bike ride!
Not when the Vietcong is in sight!

Do we need to carry a medical aid kit?
Yes...

Probably going to be a bit later I think, good luck!

Not when the Vietcong is in sight!
Officially the Vietcong were dissolved in '76, but actually they went into hiding in Suffolk, and are currently developing a missile programme with an entirely new kind of plastic.
Oh wait, sorry, that's the plot of Gravity's Rainbow...

Do we need to carry a medical aid kit?
Yes...
Only if you have special needs. Otherwise I have ibprofen and paracetemol and the car to sit in. Anything that requires more than that means ill be calling in the professionals. Dike you know you aren't meant to have plasters in a first aid kit now incase someones allergic to it?!?!? Its a fucking plaster! What's allergic about it?!? Im not having that responsibility.

anyone else appreciating just how convenient the 99p shop is for DD - glow sticks, space blankets, sausage beans, jelly beans, AAAs ...
Tried to clever by staying up til 3 only to be rudely awakened at silly o'clock by a forgetful (and hard of hearing, apparently) flatmate's f'ing clock radio still set for a weekday :( Nervously excited about tonight, really looking forward to meeting you all, especially the regular bike taggers, putting faces to bikes/names at last.
jaitch/katie-coo, I managed to find an alternative way back to london (dfoz too), I'm about #40 on the reserve list so had little hope, but best to let you know anyway. thanks for your hard work!

coming from northcote rd, so up for joining the southside feeder if you'll have me.
will be on a red pinarello. whereabouts in brockwell park are you guys likely to be?We won't be hard to spot. Look out for the forum jerseys and the new clown prince of hip hop singing songs with "Tibbs" in place of random words.

Dunwich? Shit, I thought it was Dulwich. Dunwich is fucking miles away.
You could say that it's in the middle of nowhere.

Have I got this wrong. The ride is tonight isn't it? It's barely 11 o'clock, wtf is everyone doing packed and ready? I feel ill-prepared enough as it is without you lot hyping it all up. I haven't even bought my baked beans and beer yet.

Well, I'm riding out to help at the feed, so I'm packing a little earlier today.
The first time I haven't been at the start in London Fields since 2002. See you all at the feed!

Than you Oliver.
I don't think it is the middle of nowhere, but as I recall you do pass through there on the way.

Woke up so early this morning through anxiety...have never felt so unprepared for a ride! Dashing for a train from Bham meant I obligingly forgot several important things including my good light and borrowed saddle bag :( Just taking my bike to a friend's workshop now to fix new STIs and wrap the bars. Hope everything works out okay as my nerves are eclipsing my excitement!
Same for the majority of people doing this if they're honest. In the words of the late, great Michael Jackson, JUST STOP DOGGIN' ME AROUND.
Sorry, wrong song, I meant YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Word. Preparation so far has amounted to eating breakfast, discovering that my phone is broken, and deciding to give jelly babies a go.
