Guess what I own that probably came from the same factory.
I dare not speak its name.
Go more info on this. It's same as Fiji track 2.0. Very similar to Dolan tc. Same as said but confirmed by others. ~2.1kg
Definitely not the same as a Fuji track 2.0 - got one on the wall in the living room next to my Edwardes and they're very different. The 2.0 has some rather lovely bladed seat stays for a start, fatter tubing elsewhere, etc etc. Very similar seat tube though.

then of course theres the Tifosi - which is dirt cheap and super light. pity it looks like it was welded at the Ray Charles School of Metalwork. still a good low budget option tho

and there's the Nelson pista which is good and also cheap

Ah ok, my bad. To think that you can't trust what a salesman tells you. I've never seen a Fiji track 2.0 so I was going on what I was told by a guy at velodromeshop.
The Nelson is around the same price as the tifosi. Any idea what the welding is like in comparison? I can't tell from the pic
Does anyone know anything about the Moda Forte. It's a little bit more expensive than Dolan track champion. I met the guy who runs the company at the bike show last weekend. Nice guy, not that that says anything about the bikes. Uk company too but maybe another Taiwan/china job. He said they were 'built in England but he was probably referring to building up the bikes components rather than the frame. Can be bought as framesets

hmmm... they all do look much of a muchness. i think it's a safe assumption to make that all these frames are made in the same sweatshop somewhere in the far east - yer paying for the label, in which case 6pt's no name brand suggestion seems the obvious choice. still needs a spray tho.
i have it on good authority that 'aesthetically robust' welding joins can be sanded down, not that i have any confidence in my ability to do so. i failed woodwork at school.

Great minds...I'm waiting for a call back from edwardes atm. Ha, 'aesthetically robust' is that the technical term for big, sloppy and fugly.

Haha don't know what you mean really good guy I've been speaking to. Maybe it's just me --- Irish parents you see ;) they got a few sizes at the moment. I think 58, 54 in black mat/gloss can't remember which, white gloss. But they're getting a delivery of more in next few days. Think they're selling for more now 470 for any colour you want
Guess that makes the track champ more appealling. Really undecided now. Do I care about the colour so much that I dont get a Dolan? Is the Dolan actually any better and if not the n get any colour is more tempting? Or go down newsons route or tifosi?
Does anyone now if there is anything about the Dolan to make it any better as an all round track bike? Beginner so don't know which events to specialise in

470? that is dear. still just under a hundred notes cheapererer on velodromeshop. thinking i might hold out for a dolan in that case.
they often pop up on the classifieds as well. just get in there quick cos they dont tend to stick around long.
this is like whack-a-mole.

I didnt manage to get down there today but I will tomorrow. I got it wrong, it's actually 450 and any colour you want. Anyone know why Dolan only has track champ in white? Us it just a stock thing or is it permenant? And why the fuck does my iPhone keep putting a capital letter w in White? Racist?

probably. report yourself.

ps
which is nice. if you like that sort of thing.

Actually shit that looks better than the pic on the Dolan site. But I really can't be arsed to clean a bike every other day. I'll let you know when I've been down there tomorrow. I've seen the Dolan track champ so I can compare.

they have a nice black'un at TFG. not sure what size tho. not much by way of bargains to be had - 450 clams seems to be as good as it gets.

I emailed Dolan about the colour but nothing back yet. Can't see why they would reduce the range to black since most if the silane I've seen have been black, there's obviously demand.
I got down to edwardes and had a look. Annoyingly I couldn't tell the difference in weight with track champ because I just couldn't remember. I've seen the black'un in TFG. The tubing on edwardes us oval rather than the angular shape of the track champ. I thinkthe track champ is annoys interesting frame in terms of design but in terms of performance I have no idea. I guess as an entry level frame it can't make that much difference.
The price is going up to 445 any colour. I'd say if you're interested then give them a call because they are just making the change and you may be able to get a deal. Head down there and have a chat. I've got nothing but good things to say about them so far. Try to talk to an older guy, maybe mid 50s, bald with hair on the side, he's been good to me
I still can't decide. Could always still get the one on velodromeshop. If I remember rightly TFG do have a range of sizes

ambrosio riva from velodromshop. had one for nearly a year.
stock but with goldtec, open pro, sapim wheels.
really like it. has withstood the daily 20 mile beating, commuting in central london.
done a couple of 60 milers out of town on it too, no problems there either.
light, seems pretty tough, looks ok.
only issue with it is that it came with about 2 kilos worth of serious track chain. fucker looks like it comes off a motorbike, huge.
