looks decent- probably built in the same factory as a fuji comp, looks similar.
Doubt anyone has one, but very good price.
Buy one and give us a review! -

yea, think i'm gonna go for it, the site says "the bike is manufactured in the UK" which is interesting. Will post a review if I get it.

That's a lot of track bike for £650... Nice...

Assuming it is the same guy, when the velodrome site was set up he was stealing photo's and reports from other sites without permission or acknowledgement. he would have just been a kid at that stage but it would make me a little wary because as teenslain said it's a lot of bike for the money. Oh and Ambrosia don't manufacture in the uk so he either means assembled or is bullshitting.

Why not ask Riva Sports (coincidentally the same name as the frame) about these? They'll know if they're actually Ambrosio or not, they are the UK dist' for Ambrosio.

worrying. not got round to calling them yet, will see what they have to say.

these things beter stay in one piece for a while - just took a chance and ordered one.
sure the frames arent made in the uk or we'd know about it. -
• #11
so no complaints thus far. bike is all around nice, especially for the money.
one thing though - i dont see any mention of ambrosio producing track frames anywhere online.
i'm wondering if the frame is ambrosio at all. perhaps not so cool to call it something when it isnt if this is the case.
not that i'm complaining - so far its working out well - light, seems tough, rides like you'd expect an alloy frame with fairly steep geo to - fast and twitchy. -

sorry to dredge this up again - but how's that riva working out for you? matt? you got it from veloshop ya? did it come with forks?

375 quid! sounds too good to be true.

well that's a coincidence. I was just wondering the same thing, just about to ask. How is the frameset going and do you have any idea what the weight is?
Could be hard to get much information on these frames since the industry tends to keep the origin and real manufacturers of their bikes hush hush and this seems to be a bit of a back door sale

indeed. looks awful similar to a dolan track champ (save the BB window wotnot) which is 450 notes tho the dolan comes with carbon fork/headset and post.
decisions decisions...

one of the polo players here in Berlin, have the frame, with other forks, it looks good, generic, but good. He has been playing polo with it for a year more or less and no problems...

should I get one? and get decals that say Soper?
should I be pursuing name rights? -
• #17
cheers rik. i think a trip to the spray-u-like would be in order though - white bikes look gash.

Russel, both my track bike and the commuter jobby are rivas, but not labelled as such. Built up and sold through edwardes (who'll paint it any colour you want). No problems with the frame at all, and I haven't exactly been gentle with it.
420 notes with bladed carbon fork iirc
(and oi, nothing wrong with white bikes!)
regarding where they come from, I was told Taiwan, out of the sane factory that does a lot of the dolans (and probably a lot of everything else too) -
• #19
heh. cheers tom - just testing the waters at the moment - not like i actually have space for another bike, but it is MLK day, and one can but have a dream. 420 sounds more like it - but for that money i might consider the Dolan for another 30... unless anyone has any horror stories about them to scare the kids with.

• #20
If you think ofthe 420 as including the paintjob it's pretty reasonable. There's a fancy dave hinde track bike out there for similar money to track champ but way more mental if that's your thing.

you know i've never been to chez eduardes and it's just down the drag - guess i am now. i'll tell em you sent me.
do they have an internets house page?
-
• #22
No internets for them - old school talky geezers innit. Sometimes a little hostile though...
-
• #23
yes i've heard tell of their legendary unpleasantness - the Wong Kei of lbs's.

I'm looking to get a track frameset in the next few weeks and in thinking the same things catfood. I'm tempted by this or the track champ.
Cheers 6pt for the information and the tip on edwardes. Where is edwards? I'd love to go and see it tomorrow if I can.
It's very similar to the dolan so I'm not supprised to hear it could be from same factory. I'm going to have a look a the dave hinde frame now. Do you have any more info on it quality wise? -

Just found this and looks decent, anyone have experience with these bikes? any insight into the quality etc?
