Thought this was a thread for functional bikes? Personally I can't see much function in a mountain bike without suspention other than weight saving in which case I would expect to see a carbon rigid fork, likewise flat pedals on what is obviously an XC bike. Surely If you are riding singlespeed surely you want the most effiecent power transfer when climbing? (In my opinion)
I think it's just a simple mountain bike. Not the lightest, fastest or anything. Just a bike.

I just puked a little. I still like it, in a functional sense, whilst wearing shades.

Haz racks = functional.
Forks may be too blue, but those lugs, don't think I've forgotten them! (:

Most of the bikes from the Oregon Manifest seem pretty geared towards functionality, this years entries. I must say I'm a bit miffed Pereira won again, from an asethetic point of view his bike seems pretty ugly. What's new or inovative about a e-bike? Maybe I've missed the point of the competion

i'm reposting my own bike. fenders are now on it. i love this bike. this basket is absolutely enormous and completely solid. i load it with 40 lbs of groceries regularly. takes it like a champ.

I'd recommend getting another brake to go with the coaster. I ran a similar set up (admittedly with a kid on the back too), and I had a little trouble stopping on downhills when fully laden. The brake would just creak a lot and sound in pain, or just lock out the back wheel, both not fun with a heavy bike on a steep descent. Looks like a fun shopping ride.

It's ugly, but it's an awesome looking dinglespeed fixed pompino;

Where would one find a CND symbol canti-hanger such as that?
-
• #893
Whats goin on with the headtube on the pompino?

They were all the rage years ago. Ebay? Or maybe people still sell them.

yes where i live it's flat except for one hill (i live in the "heights". but yes i was thinking of that. the coaster brake was sort of an accident. it was the cheapest wheel in the shop, so i went with it and ditched the cables.

cut down for longer fork, then extended again??? maybe? or just pointless cutting and welding?

Look like a headtube extension to me.

compensate for suspension geo frame?
I've had an 29ers with rigid steel fork.
okay the steel fork is a very cheap model, but frankly it work perfectly well despite the lack of suspension, the cockscrew in Swinley didn't put me off one bit.
