  • I'm about to build one of these. anyone know what tyres they are?

I've been told that I need to get rid of some bikes. so I'm whittling away and i've now got it down to two. one is an ogre and the other is the soon to be straggler as a do it all bike. i'll make a current projects thread for it when i get the frame.

  • Also, I've got a deda carbon seatpost, how can I remove the decals without damaging it?

  • ^^ They look a lot like Panaracer Paselas

  • Panaracer pasela

I thought they might be. I've never used them, can anybody tell me how suitable for commuting they might be?

  • what is taped to your crank?

  • That's not tape, it's the graphics on his SRAM chainset.

    very.

I have 35c pasela's on my pompino, really nice to ride.

I've never had p*ncture yet either.

    Nice! thanks.

I got a bloody puncture last night in the rain on the way home. it was truly shite as i've been meaning to clean my bike for ages but haven't so i got fucking covered in brake dust and road grime.

  • great front rack by the way. what is it?

  • Sorry, i've just realised you answered that a few weeks ago.

  • Yeah, they're great tyres. Make sure you get the tour guard version though (or I think the newest ones are called PT). I use them on both my bikes and have only had one puncture in around a year, which was whilst doing some pretty ill advised off roading over sharp stones.

  • yeah, ive done some gravel, and light off roading with them too and theyve been fine. Theyre not expensive either which is a bonus.

  • Another vote for Paselas, have put a lot of miles on them recently, both on and off road, very pleased with them so far. Looking forward to them eventually wearing out and being replaced by the 38c folding version

  • or get rivndell jack browns ;)

  • They look nice but a bit pricey unless Kinoko started stocking them again...

If I ride enough this year, I might wear through these in time for a trip to the States. If that's the case I'll have some Compass tyres waiting for me when I arrive.

  • My Mini-V's arrived this morning, booked into Harrys for saturday to swap them round as last time I did brakes they felt like shit

  • ^^^ Jack Browns are 33mm though.

  • and a 1/3

  • thanks for all the recommendations! i've orders the 700x37c versions.

  • The Pasela TG are the best allround tyres i've had. Not a single puncture yet and fairly easy rolling. Mine have started to crack a bit around the bead though.

  • I'm seeing wildly differing weights online for the TG.

Might go with some on my audax build over the planned Durano Plus (which I love), because of the tanwall sexiness.

  • The different weights may be for folding (kevlar bead) and non-folding.

  • I think this ticks a lot of practical boxes for me.
