There are more on the blog and bits of gear/packing details, I'm too tired to copypasta more though...
Edit: They are less lazy than me and put them all in one post with nice clicky pictures! http://cycleswift.wordpress.com/2014/05/21/every-bike-has-a-story/

This is my favourite thread. Best bikes.
Makes me want to go away again.Need to get a new front handlebar bag. Those bigtops are good, spotters bike rocks, but want it to be rackless as I like my front panniers. For bannas and camera.
Also really makes me want a geared town bike with sweptback bars. Look so cruisy.

Where do the bannas go?
I need something with meshing outside pockets to stuff bannas in for easy access really.

I figure a front handlebar bag big enough would work well (need a bigger rake fork though for the extra amount of weight).

https://www.alpkit.com/products/roo-pouch they do this also which might fit one banana? I've ordered a 13l front one (but not that) and will post pics when it arrives.

I was thinking more like this; http://www.wiggle.co.uk/altura-dryline-bar-bag/
Bananas in front. Just seems pointless having no pockets, or mesh on side. Or on the top.
One I have now has bungee straps on the top, so I can stick my rainjacket in it for easy access. -

^^^^^What's the thinking behind the front-heavy loading on those bikes? Wouldn't they handle better evenly loaded?

FBNPNA is temporarily out of order so I'm on my Condor.
It's just not the same.

Has been discussed mannnnnny times already, looking at the Vaya in particular, the fork has been altered (increased rake) to handle better with the front load. Some people prefer to load evenly, some like to ride with weight at the front. If you load front and low, your bike feels nice and 'planted' on both climbs and descents, rather than the swaying effect you get with rear panniers/large saddlebags when out of the saddle as the weight is generally quite high.
The Elephant's area also designed (afaik) with a low trail to handle larger front loads.
Final + for front loading, you can reach stuff nice and easy. Nutella butties, cameras, beer etc.

I thought the Vaya have normal fork, it got 650b wheel instead.

Ah make sense, didn't realised, 20mm also steepen the very slack head angle too.

So I visit a friend who is in the process of skipping this and to cut a long story short, it's in incredible condition.
I can't find any info about it online. It's a Y.A.K Altura, made in NZ and is shockingly light. Nothing is seized and only a couple of bolts have minor rust.
Kicker is that it's got full LX groupset in incredible condition.
So I cometh to you for inspiration. What should I do with it? I wan't something I can use to rack up (yeah boiii) some distance this summer for cheaps. There's so much here I don't really know where to bite. -

I was unsure of where to best put it. It could go here or in the things fitting perfectly into other things thread.
Grey beard, brooks saddle, 2 books in a 2 book saddle bag, folding bike. Like a sir.

Do you mean the decrease in wheel size caused a drop of 20mm, or are the forks altered to drop it 20mm?
-

Nope, literally steepen the head angle due to adding more rake on the same fork.

Even the Hutchinsons aren't tubeless. I don't think any exist.
Seems unnecessary to me, you're unlikely to get any pinch flats if the tyres are big and the terrain isn't.

Good diagram that, just worked out I could re rake my old cross forks and loose 3mm in length to make a low trail set of forks. Leave the carbon low rake forks for cross racing, swap out to the steel low trail forks and got a great touring setup. Now how to re rake them with out causing a disaster!
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. So good. All of them.
