I'll never understand the decision to locate rear lights behind the seat tube on a bike that's meant for some level of touring/randonneuring.

Why? It is a rando bike. It's got a front rack, for a rando bag. It hasn't got rear rack mounts, nothing needs to be on the rear, it sense.

Chances are that a jacket or something will be strapped under the the seat, or that the bike will be slightly repurposed. Also difficult to see when you pull up in one of these.
