Here's my Pashley carrying a Surly F&F last night, I think I reached smug-factor five on this ride.
-
• #503
The spacing on that Surly is massive, Puglsey?
-
• #504
No, it's just the angle of the picture, it's a 53cm Steamroller

Any plan on adding a front rack or leave it as it is?
-
• #506
Yes, as soon as I can source one.
I need a new saddle, I did about 30 miles all told yesterday scooting around London and although this saddle is comfortable on short trips it's too wide for longer ones, I came close to getting sore...
Looking at a Brompton saddle as it's the same fitting and we might have a spare used one kicking around at work. -

Hi,
I have a chance to obtain a Pashley Mailstar frame - would off-the-shelf components fit or are bottom bracket/seatpost/stem etc proprietary?
Also what are they worth? From the photo it looks to be just a frame, headset and front mudguard.

Needed to move a bike to a school today... needed another bike to get me home (via tram possibly)...
When considering all my bikes for the job, this was the most suitable. Go Brompton!
Edit - front bag full of sample helmets too...

full of helmets? how many helmets did you get in there mary poppins?
also i think all bromptons should have another bike strapped to the back, adds a little extra somethin' somthin'

- I Think a 4th might've fitted. But yes, it was filled by 3 helmets.
Whilst riding I kept thinking of the meme that used to knock around on here... you need more 'thing' on your 'thing' (or whatever it was).

Oh my god. Major blast of nostalgia! Something about the colour scheme of that mixte hit me hard...did Raleigh do a men's mtb in that colourway in the late 80s/early 90s? I can't recall having one (I was a Raleigh Lizard guy), but I can almost picture it perfectly, but just can't lock it down. Maybe it was a friends...
-
• #513
Raleigh Mustang no?
-
• #514
It was!
And now I'm totally confused because I've Googled, found the pink one and was 100% certain that I had one. Then I saw the dark red one and am convinced I had one of those too.
I headed straight to ebay and there is one that would fit me, but the guy wants £100! And it's collection only and hundreds of miles away :(

the fact its basket is packed with euro'beer is the main reason this bike wins.
It looks like a pretty well thought out machine, fairly short wheelbase might make it a bit more nippy than really comfortable with loads on it, but tubing looks beefy enough and bars allow tonnes of space around the load so they dont' get caught up.http://www.flickr.com/photos/onehappycog/5516925850/in/pool-66049241@N00/
ignoring slack chain (probably from mega usage rather than mechanical lazyness) and extreme use of brooks leather, looks like a decent run-around for putting the miles in with little luggage :p -

I'm still puzzle to this day to why they didn't add mudguard and rack mount.

what frame is this, not functional but really nice imo
-
• #518
It says 'squarebuilt' on the down tube.
-
• #519
looks like a triangle to me
-
• #520
And the tubes look round/oval.
Where's the square?

Where's the square?
Analyzing it. :]

3 spd, electric shifting.
-
• #523
You know what the worse thing is? no mudguard!
-
• #524
Carries 4 coffees. Who cares.
-
• #525
why only 3 spd when it has more cogs?
that shopper/ tourer looks great, it does seem to work but quite a short effective top tube which may be a good thing on those long trips?
Ed there was a Moulton on sale down here in Cornwall for £50 that I missed due to procrastination and now really regret as would have been great for flying around on.
