As good as this is, someone needs to spend a few more hours massaging those guards.

:-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) my order with rack and light mount and stuff was supposed to turn up today but didn't. Will get more functional soon. Trailer was great though and the dogs seemed to enjoy it once we got moving. Plenty of space for them both.

I want to make my old Cannondale road bike a little more functional, but I have a carbon fork, carbon bars and carbon seatpost, so where the fuck do I put a rack, basket or a small bag? I'm thinking maybe Restrap's saddle pack is the way to go here?

Yup.

Tempted by the JACK bike rack but there's a waiting list and I'm impatient.
I have a set of Restrap straps from almost a decade ago now that are still going strong so that's an easy enough choice. Maybe I'll also add the mini rack when they release to the public.

I'd get a small bar bag and a half frame bag. I find saddle packs a bit of a pain unless you're touring all day.

Route Werks rigid bag? Owners seem to like it.

I have two on the way from the Kickstarter. Such a long wait...

JACK bike rack
is that advisable on carbon bars?
-
• #26044
Apparently!
To be honest, there's absolutely no reason for me to be riding a bike full of carbon when there's luggage involved though, maybe I should just give in and fit a non-carbon fork ... but I really like the way this rides.
Route Werks seems like a good choice too, thanks for the advice all!

I'll be running mine on carbon enve XC bars.

I quite like the very boring Ortlieb bar bags.
They are nice to access while riding. But then you always have, as with all quick fix, something ugly on your bar.
And I doubt they are a good idea with carbon bars. -

https://www.ortlieb.com/en_us/handlebar-pack-qr ortl have this new "gravel specific" bar bag which could be good?
-
• #26048
Yeah but that is rolltop.
The boxy one has a rear facing lid with magnets. Like a traditional rando bag. So you can snack while moving. -

I'd be lying if I didn't admit that the look of the thing had a lot to do with it.

There was a really nice rock lobster on here a good while ago, white steel frame and fork, pretty sure flat bar. Anyone remember where I’d find it without trawling back?
