You're right. Similar placement but not the sort of bike you'd typically have a dynamo on. Strange

A modern front dérailleur wouldn't work, but it's an old bike with friction shifters. It might actually be a double FD.

€850 for 7 speed 🤔

A modern front mech can work with friction shifting. Am I missing something?
-
• #18782
I think they were talking about modern FD wouldn't handle the difference in teeth between rings, not actually to do with friction

Fair point, but it's not like that stops people paying silly money for contemporary Campag (& I forgot quite how crap the £ is these days!). Still a lovely bike, though.

Straight to anti, imo! But it does what I need.

For this properly set up bicycle? No way. I'd only change the bartape maybe, to blue if you want to keep it in a colour.

Yeah, I know disc brakes are dead but I'm thinking of going disc front on my Genesis Flyer to make it a bit more fbnpna.
I'm probably not gonna find much cheaper than a Surly disc trucker fork (the 26" version has the a2c I need) am I?
-
• #18793
Are you set on buying new?
Because you can easily get a carbon disc fork second hand for 50 quid or even less -
• #18794
Not necessarily set in new no, not sure I want carbon though.
Not even sure I want disc actually.
We need a dbad/rim brake support thread.

I have a surly troll fork that I bought but am not going to use in the near future.
26", 1 1/8 steerer, all the mounts, etc.
Happy to let it go for £50 + postage from london -

That looks like Denmark. Is this yours?
What I meant is that it looks like a very big step in chainring sizes, more than what your typical front derailleur is happy with. No doubt it works fine though
