  • Your bikes almost make me want to have children and move somewhere freezing.

I cant recommend having to dress two toddlers in several layers of clothing, with hats, gloves, thermal boots, buffs etc. etc. every fecking morning. Especially the bastard gloves/mittens.

If I did'nt have the bike ride to look forward to. Neither of my kids would have thumbs anymore.

But yeah, its an idilic paradise, my life ;)

  • You know what to do, contact bikepack.pl on making you a custom bag to fit the muungo.

Its definitely been on my mind. Theres a fecking massive space, just infront of the rear wheel. With loads of places for straps to attach.

  • Would a trailer not be any good?

Thats exactly what the longbike is for. Trailer avoidance. I really dont like them.

2x16Ltr panniers + 1 x 6 Ltr barbag, should carry the kids nursery bits. Bigger stuff like wellie boots, can be strapped on. The big foot boards make this super easy.

Still, seems sill not to have a frame bag between rear wheel and seat tube. For my bits.

    Next pay packet maybe.

  • Ahearn Longtail:

  • I know the 'faux vintage' look gets a bit tiring but I'm quite fond of this Signal:

  • ^ My Crane bell's spring must have bent lately, the clapper seems to be ringing with the least provocation. (Not a euph).

  • double Spokk but still :)

  • Sorry but how is that functional?

  • well I didn't want to post in anti or HHSB did I.

Also fully foldable, disc brakes, belt drive.

Actually, I don't know what it is...

  • Sorry but how is that functional?

    Apology accepted.

It folds probably quicker than any other bike, one size frame fits all and it would probably fit in your saddlebag.

I think the original Strida was a great design (except the drum brakes).

  • Have you tried to ride one? Terrible.

The real design flaw is that the taller you are, the closer the bars are to you. What a stupid bike.

  • Yes. I rode one of the prototypes. It rode like a tiny wheeled folder, and I wouldn't say it was worse than a Brompton.

I agree the reach was too short, and way too short for me. But most non-cyclist shaped people seemed ok with it when they tried it.

    The brakes were junk.

  • Looking for a new bike for the Mrs (has to be from Evans) and spotted this, which looks pretty good. Seems to be quite well speced - there are not that many options if you're after something with room for full mud guards and rack braze-ons that isn't a nasty looking hybrid for under a grand.

I'm gobsmacked by the first statement, and confused by the second.

Fortunately the third doesn't matter to me, I never got it going fast enough to need the brakes.

  • I've never really liked the Bromptons I've ridden.

People who don't already ride bikes liked the Strida, in the incredibly scientific test that involved everyone in the office riding it around the car park for a few mins.

It needs some sort of telescopic stem I think.

Very very heavy and make sure that the seat bolt work, we got quite a few that could not be tightened properly.

  • bloody hell! £900 and that's the review?

  • They're otherwise fine beside that, the Tiagra shifter work much better with the disc brakes than similarly priced CX that come with Sora.

  • The Brompton are weird at first, but after two weeks once you get used to the extraordinary sensitive handling, it's great to ride.

Sadly it could not be said for the Strida, in fact the Brompton is oddly comfortable on a long distance ride.

  • interesting, thanks Ed.

  • I know it's not finished yet, so techincally not that functional...

...but for some reason I just love co-motions.
