3 x 1 is great. It's like having a AW you can repair on a tour. I tried to do the reverse with a 1 x 3 but had trouble getting the range I wanted.
Did a frankenstein build just like this one but shitty/ratty with old/bin bits and it had all the gears I needed -

Would love to build something similar in the future.

Seems a bit odd to me, if you're gonna do gears why not get 9/10/11 etc rather than go to the effort of putting gears but only having 3

Main reason I can think of is it would allow you to build a dishless rear wheel for loaded touring? And I suppose it's probably lighter than an AM.

built rack for friends cyclo, to have platform for daily usage and possibility to put panniers sometimes. maybe someone knows are there front racks for cantilever and axle mounts? then there is no center brake hole and no eyelets ? would be interesting to check mount solutions

Mr Thorn, could do with a size smaller, but they never come up :/
Hence the rather ugly setup...

Dear owners of functional bikes,
Has anyone got a spare velcro strap for holding a frame pump? Currently using a yellow one and its really irritating me

No mudguards or racks.. Sensible gearing aside that's more gravel bike territory that.
Edit.
It doesn't even have eyelets..
Edited. Photobucket did work before didn't it?
