  • the state of trends in modern cycling mean I can't tell if this is an instagram-famous frame-builders new long tour rig or the bicycle of a mentally handicapped homeless person.

  • It has an Altus RD. Clearly this is Grant Petersen's undercover rig.

  • The pram/stroller hood is fecking genius?

  • Just so great

  • Looks like all drinking vessels are contained within the luggage so I'd go for mentally handicapped homeless person.

  • Very good of you to presume the homeless to be mentally handicapped 👍

  • +1 for feeling uncomfortable with that

  • looking at restrap, apidura and Blackburn bags - they seem fairly like for like. Is there a clear Best Buy?

  • What's the rack on this?

  • Looks like a custom

  • Yeah, looks like it

  • if that was my presumption, spelling both of them out would be a tautology.

  • Restrap is British made if that matters for much, plus there is a 15% off code for us on the forum...that's what sold me really.

  • Googled tautology and I'm still none the wiser to what you're getting at

  • If I presumed that all homeless people were mentally handicapped, I wouldn't need to say 'a mentally handicapped homeless person', as the homelessness would cover the mental handicap also. Having said that, homeless people register 10X the rate of mental illness than the general population, although that's more frequently a result of being homeless, rather than a direct cause.

Either way, it's not a debate for this thread.

  • Statistical tautology more than anything non? I do get what you mean...but the numbers would be skewed based on a situational basis.

  • Can we just agree the bike belongs to someone who may or may not be homeless and may or may not be mentally handicapped, that those two things don't neccesarily go hand in hand and going back to the bike, it's probably not owned by someone looking to get Instagram famous as there's no hanging cup?

  • Yeah :)

  • going back to the bike, it's probably not owned by someone looking to get Instagram famous as there's no hanging cup?

Rather, I think you will find the pram canopy to be the next dangling cup.

  • What is the pram hood for?. Aero gains?

  • What is the pram hood for?. Insta grams?

  • Can't figure out if this is the bike of a retired civil servant that rides to his local North London library every Tuesday to work on his memoir, or one of those trendy ultra-cyclist 'rigs'.
