One week fall touring. Inc warm clothing, Trangia cooker, big sleeping bag and tarp + groundsheet.
Terrain was mixed but mostly rural French tarmac. Tyres are 38c Gravel Grinder Plus from Challenge.

Otherwise it looks awesome -

Old steel frames with big tyres and drops are the shit.

maybe repost?Im in love with the Velo Orange Piolet. Or at least the 29 x 2.4 or 27.5+ clearance, buckets of mounts, not suspension corrected, and a toptube thats not super slopey.
Anyone know of something similar?

It's nice but too expensive for my taste

Good if it wasnt for the angle of the top tube. Dont want it to get any slopier than the Piolet.
Crust Evasion is rad, but i dont think it can clear much on a 700c/ 29er wheel. Built for 26+ or 27.5 x 2.5. So maybe a 700x 45 would fit?
Edit: but also mad $dorrah

Throw in some mudguard and rack eyelets and a disc mount and you might have a deal ;)
-
• #13314
Disc mounts will ruin it's classy and sturdy look. Rack mounts for sure

I really like the new surly troll now that they decided to drop the suspension corrected fork but again pretty expensive (I'm just a greedy fucker :P )
