Functional. Not porn or anti.
Might not fit the thread zeitgeist, but it checks all the boxes.

Well, in a sense all working bikes are functional. However, that's not the spirit or the point of this thread is it? There are a dozen other threads for carbon Di2 beauties (I happen to like the above).
And anyway, it wasn't meant as a criticism, more of a 'you'll get a better response in a suitable thread' comment.

There's a

it sits just perfect in here ! :
"Since they expect the Paralane to see more foul weather use than some of their race bikes, Focus has also built-in full fender compatibility with a neat hidden mount setup. Since they dropped the seatstay bridge in the interest of more comfort and clearance, theyβve made a neat little clip-on bridge to mount them. The best part? Focus developed a simple set of fenders with Belgian mudguard maker Curana, and every Paralane they sell comes with a pair included in the box." -

There's already a few bikes from Helsinki on this page, so here's one more:

A steamroller with gears, so might also belong to frankenbike thread. But it's lovely. Picture taken on a fleche, the 24h randonneur event. Some parts change occationally, but it's been something like that for some years now, although without gears until recently. -

Cool! Can we have a drive side pic please? And a close-up of rear derailleur mount solution?

my work horse may fit in here once I figure out adding a photo ;)

Easy, click upload file in the reply dialogue. If it's too large it won't work. Check pic properties, resize to max 3 mb.

+1 where did you get the cargo net?
-
• #12365
They're 40mm rise Surly Open's.
This bad boy https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/carriers-racks/delta-cargo-net-4-hook-version/ - Really really good/strong/plastic clips are boss.

I have a couple of those, I found the elastic loses it's stretch pretty quickly, especially if used in a way that ensures things stay where you want them to.

I have been using it for over a year now and still good. To be fair though, I am waiting for my ILE Rack Bag to arrive at SBC as it's far superior, so won't be used for much longer.

• #12368
Mine is fine after a year or so of use too.

• #12369
hm, maybe UVs are higher spec than yours...

Can someone enlighten me a little about panniers?
I'm looking to use a Pelago Commuter front rack in combination with probably Ortlieb Front-Roller Classic bags:
I'm a proper pannier noob (amongst other things), but I understand that the top clips of the bags mount at the horizontal rail of the rack. And then you need the attach the bottom of the bag somehow with the sliding clip? Is this possible with the Pelago rack or do I need something else?
-
• #12372
They'll be fine, the hooks go behind the 'legs' of the rack.
-
• #12373
Top hooks go on the bars of the upside down A bits, lower hook goes down the upside down A somewhere.
Random from google showing that.
Important thing I find with front panniers is that the back of them doesn't fold/bend into the wheel, the ones in your pic look good as they have those big plastic bits.

Thanks both. Good tip(s).

Hi, apologies for cross posting but am raising funds for a mini tour in August so there's some thumbies for sale over here for you functional types:https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/287622/
Schwalbe sometimes run small... I can't really remember anymore. There's someone running 2.2 racekings, apparently the rear rubs http://imgur.com/a/DZIPZ
27.5x2.1 seems to fit at the front, 27.5x2.0 at the back ... http://urbanvelo.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/image-e1407844815229.jpeg
