Wedged a btwin rack onto my vitus dee, seems a waste to not use the mid fork bosses, but it was all I could get a hold of at short notice for little £££

That looks like an efficient system. NOT! Looks sooo draggy and hard to turn the cranks once he engages it.
Also, I'd have thought that a bike that'd be used mainly on snow might have benefited from a bit more clearance between tyres and frame/fork.

talk to me about grips folks.. mine are getting scuffed to hell and peeling apart from leaning the bike on walls. any thoughts on something that stands up to daily abuse?

Its not my bike mate, I couldnt comment, but it seems to be a soild choice of rack.
(I presume you're talking about the bike I posted on the previous page, not my own bike which was posted a few pages ago)

I like it. It's my bike. Comes with three different fixings to forkends and two for the crown. Works great with panniers both in large and medium sizes. I havee them both. you can check the specs of the bike in Pedal Room.
