  • You can with a Pugsley even, someone made them out of American number plate.

  • I've been using my rigid 29er for road/trails/road this week and would have stayed a lot dryer with 'guards.

  • toe overlap could be a problem on a 29er with mudguards.

  • fail on the rear guard but otherwise pretty nice.

  • Ourys ruin it though

    missed them!

Ed, did you snap your wooden mudguard when we got split from the pack on NYE?

  • Annoyingly so yep, only the bottom part of the front, making it still usable by reattaching the mount by drilling new holes, but still quite annoying for that to happen.

I guess my Dr Martens boots got in the way when I was caning it on the wrong kind of bicycle (but was pretty fun to ride).

  • Who was the third person with us when we got lost?

  • Love this.

  • Who was the third person with us when we got lost?

That's my friend, is the infamous notorious dancing James of the LFGSS.

That was a really interesting read, thanks for sharing.

That grey-blue Raleigh up there is gorgeous.

  • it's indeed awesome, now's Rivendell (Bridgestone US is designed and build by American framebuilder).

i.e. the excellent Bridgestone XO-1 is now the Rivendell Atlantis.

  • Very vanilla, but good vanilla.

  • Loved it right down to the groupset, it's nothing special but something we all can't says no to.

  • Not sure id want a double on it, ideally I'd want a triple with all that weight. My new audax has a triple and it can't take a front rack.

  • It's fine with a wide range MTB cassette, so you get a good range without needing a triple.

    example: 11-32 with 50/34 crankset (121-28) give more range than a 11-25 with 50-39-30 crankset (121-32).

  • My tourer has a triple with 22 up front, 32 at the back. You'd think you would never need that, but then you probably haven't ever had to ride it up Tourmalet with a tent and a couple of bags full of food.

  • Oh I have 22 up front and 32 back on my Thorn Sherpa, I've no doubt I'll need it when fully loaded on a heavy bicycle.

It varies on what kind of touring TBH, credit card touring? lightweight touring? or plain ol' fashion common garden touring with enough panniers and racks to carry a kitchen.

  • Awesome idea/touch:

    What is this?

  • Stops over-rotation of fork and bars I guess (head tube brazeons as well)
