  • Fucking Pasela, a custom bike and they put shit tyres on.

  • You can buy one on bikepack.pl for 60e, another from ktm.

    A link ? ; )

  • Easy now.. There are better tyres but paselas are still good.

  • Nowt wrong with paselas, but front guard needs adjusting, unless it's for that motorbike sound I used a coke can for as a youngun.

  • Paselas still good, but it's like sticking Durano on a custom roadie.

  • http://bikepack.pl/pl/ I've got two of them, that's a really got product with a lot of empty space inside.

Really good too, but cheaper and not so reliable

  • Unavailable.......

  • It's my bike, I just discovered it has been posted here...
I agree that it's not good structurally - I bought the frame online, and kinda messed up the measurements - and I was thinking that it would be a tad bigger.
(hence the spacers and longer stem)

Well, I must admit I was rather nervous during the first times I rode it, thinking that the tube would snap on me at anytime.
But it seems to hold on just fine.
As for the cranks, I chose them because they were compatible with a 73 mm BB shell while offering a 5 bolts, 110 BCD ; those are actually quite rare if you want to stay away from square taper BBs.

  • Let's not kid ourselves that Sachs frames are good value either.

I wonder how much more a set of Pego-Richie tubes and all the Sachs dropputs/fork crowns and frame parts cost over a regular off the shelf Columbus/Reynolds set.

  • Seems fairly on trend... takes 32c w/guards, discs, crabon fork with eyelets, durable 8 speed stuff, 23mm rims... orange...

  • That's a nice bike, indeed

  • 11.2kg

About right, The Genesis CdF is about that weight too (abet all steel).

  • That's not a light bike, that's a panzer bike

  • A mere 10.8kg with 105 @ £749.99. Hmmm...

Hard to find anything that shows the cost of his tubing, but full lugset is about $200usd when you add the bits up, so not cheap, but not insaine. Then maybe $600-800usd for the tubeset as a total thumb in the air guess.

I was being a bit facicious. He has a "cool" brand but equally he makes beautiful frames and if you look at the effort and style in his OTP lugsets you can see the ATD. Ultimately there is only one of him so he can charge pretty much what he wants, so why not charge enough to give himself a decent standard of living.

  • Absolutely. I remember from my hi-fi days there were relatively small companies making headphones that openly admitted that they couldn't meet the demand for their product so just ramped the price up and up until it cut down the demand to a level they could fulfill. Better for them than setting at 'realistic' prices and having a forever disatisfied customerbase waiting on backordered stock.

I've been saving for ages with an aim to celebrate the end of my part time degree with another watch. Last few weeks though I've been toying with the idea of trying to get onto Sachs waiting list instead. Last I heard though he was only dealing with previous customers and folk from the military/educators.

  • I think Sachs stop receiving orders, the website has a special section that recommends what he regards as the next wave builders.

  • Money no object, if I wanted a lugged frame he'd definitely be my first choice. (1 1/8" steel forks, regular sized tubing, red - just in case anyone's wondering)

The cool thing is that you can have something physically the same/similar as his frames because he essentially sells all the bits. So I'd say maybe choose a UK builder and ask them to use his kit.

  • Seems fairly on trend... takes 32c w/guards, discs, crabon fork with eyelets, cheap shimano Claris 8 speed stuff, 23mm rims... orange...

    ftfy.

  • Seems the correct thread for this?
