  • They way I determine if someone is a 'cyclist' or just 'person using a bike'?

Are they being a cunt? If so, 'cyclist'.

  • Its true. We're all cunts. We can't help it. Its the bikes.

  • Got a brooks off eBay, thought it was a swallow, seems to be some kind of old school modded brooks (seller said has been in his shed years) not as pretty as a swallow but super comfy.

  • Shaving Brooks saddles has made a bit of a comeback: I've regularly used a modded B17 for over 10 years.

  • Mmm, really want to do a 650b conversion on my ES now. Might try and have a go on the 11sp 105 groupset first, see if I like that too, then may as well move to discs. Fuck it... new bike.

  • You can already get 28s and full guards on those frames no?

  • Shout if you need a 1mm/0.5mm rotor spacer to eek out a bit more clearance - I've got plenty.

Hey @Alb, could I please take you up on this?

  • In reality, just 25s, I found 28c pasealas to rub a little.

  • Hase Pino with a tag along on the rack - Switzerland a couple of years ago

  • What do people think of the Jamis Bosa Nova? Can anyone recommend it or something similar for a similar price?

  • with that much seat post and steerer showing, a bigger sized frame?

  • Very heavy but for the money, it's hard to beat.

  • what shifters are those ?

  • what shifters are those ?

  • Kaffenback looks good, although it has no pannier mounts on the fork.

    How about the London Road?

  • Some advice from the FBNPNA heads please.

I thought I was sold on the Thorn Audax MK3 until I saw the Brother Kepler. The Kepler is 200g lighter but doesn't have the pedigree of Thorn. Brother also reckon that the Kepler can handle trails whereas Thorn don't have that same kind of confidence in their Audax MK3. When I spoke to them on the phone they thought that it would be ok on a rough canal path but no worse. This surprised me a little.
I don't mind about the brakes, I would prefer side pull for ease of use but cantis have better stopping power and I ride them at the moment so don't mind about keeping them, saves me money as well.
Know if there is any difference in stiffness between Brother's 4130 and Thorn's 858 (apparently the equivalent of 725) ?
Does anyone know if the brother logos will come off, are they under the lacquer?

I've recently whittled down my bike collection to just one so this will be replacing my flexy and heavy but very reliable Geoffrey Butler touring frame possibly with either the kepler or audax mk3. I commute and do everything with this so I feel like a have to make a measured decision when getting a replacement. It's currently set up as a 1 x 9 with a high rise stem and risers for my fucked up back but I think on my new frame I'll go with drops but keep the high rise stem/spacer stack.

  • Link or more info please

  • Not to confuse the matter more, but have you thought about the salsa vaya?
