  • I'm looking for a designer to design a poster for a film catalogue. No money, the script is finished and its to be shopped around festivals and sales events for finance. I know of a few designers on here already, but hoped that i could hear from a few more. I have a couple of weeks max to do this. The film is s sci-fi / rom-com set on the moon. Anyone up for the challenge? pm me if you are interested, or email me brendan at bluntfilms dot co dot uk

  • Brendan: I have knocked up a rough poster, taken a few liberties with the wording, just to give you an idea what I can do.
    My rates are surprisingly competetive.

  • Pay the designer to do the work.

  • Or if no money, offer them a cut of the possible profit?

  • Haha!

  • Pay the designer to do the work.

I've worked in the script of this film for 3 years, many hours. It might get made, it might not. This poster is for a catalogue. The final poster on the possible film would be paid for because it would be part of the budget. Sometimes you do things to try and get more work from it. I would never use 'free labour' but collaborating to try and get a job is different. i work at least 150 days a year trying to get a job, pitching, writing etc. If i had money to spend on this I would believe me. Don't be offended just because it says 'no budget'.

  • I'm not offended by all means, just trying to fight the misconception that us designers work for free or that our profession does not need to be paid "just for a poster". If it helps you to be more successful commercially, then you should have had a budget for all aspects of your production.

I personally don't do favours in hope to get real paid work. It never happens.

  • You completely missed the point. never mind.
