And I thought things were not supposed to be for sale elsewhere (or at least not without being mentioned)? Or did i dream that?
-
• #953
Not.
Hang on - his deportation threat, then sure; his trading, definitely not.
karma
acting uncivilised gets you exactly what you give and Amey comes on here asking for help..... just piss off.

High interest savings account, hard to take money out of with terms and shizzle attached.
Easy to take money out, but a yearly deposit limit means I can't put now put it back in.

I think Dibs should be banned,it causes so much trouble,it should be first come first served with the money, with internet banking and paypal I don't see a problem of even putting a holding deposit on something, and all this dibs for a friend shit that has to go.
-
• #959
^ Yep, pm and cash, whether in hand or via paypal whatever. It's easy enough to specify it in your ad though, rather than banning the dibs.
-
• #960
I would have been pissed off as well if I were dommyracer. Dibs, PM and agreed a time and place to do the transaction only for it to be cancelled is very poor form. I'd be spouting vitriol.
-
• #961
Dibs is fine if you just remember the order in which people dibs-ed in my experience.
At the end of the day it's up the seller to specify how they want their things to sell. If you want first come/first served then say that in your thread.

^^^not an example of the problem with dibs, more an example of a bad trader.
-
• #963
But if you don't dibs then the thread becomes and mess and you don't know who got in first. You could think you PM'd first but lose out. What a tease.
It's got to be up to the OP, say if you don't want dibs but it works for lots of small transactions IMO.Amey, triple wac, this is the third time you've taken the piss out of the forum. It's not irony, it's a bad show.

Especially when mobile numbers have been exchanged and it's 30 minutes before the meetup.
If I hadn't texted to check I'm reasonably sure I would have been standing about in East Dulwich with a few hundred quid in my pocket and my dick in my hand.*In this case, Amey specified 'Dibs followed by PM' and then circumvented his own rules by selling to a non-dibber.
Fair enough if seller wants to set the rules, but if they set them they should stick to them.
*figuratively speaking

you can go and buy yourself something nice with the cash you pulled out?

Does anyone know how I get my Cash back off Hilary Stone? Paid for some brake levers about a month ago.. Still not got them and pm'd him twice. Only £7.50 but still....
-
• #969
You PM'd me yesterday evening at 20.32 demanding your money back - I will need your bank details which you have not yet supplied.
Your brake levers were posted on Wednesday 6th October - reasonably I should really wait to refund you until a Royal Mail search is carried out but seeing as you are now rather impatient I am quite prepared to refund you straight away... -

Hilary, can you look into where the c-record bottombracketcup is at at the moment?
(i have been waiting since 20 september, i am not a very impatient guy but its taking a bit long now) -

Just to clarify this a bit from my side...
Username - Amey
This thread - http://www.lfgss.com/thread53364.html
I put in dibs, followed Immediately by PM. agreed price, exchanged mobile numbers and to meet at 1900
Took out the cash etc and texted to check we were still on for meeting up.
He texted me 30 minutes before the meeting time to tell me he'd sold it to someone else....
If that's the case, then it isn't on. But fwiw, no one seemed like they were serious. My reading of the thread shows, a "Dibs" followed by some posts and then a "price drop". Amey was clearly after a quick sale so I obligied. I worked out how much I could pay and made a simple offer: "£390, pickup tomorrow". This place is hidious for people chatting shit. I have often managed to 'jump the que' as it appears on the thread, by putting in a firm offer, giving my availabity, offering a holding deposite etc.
In the end he got in touch saying he'd had a higher offer (£410) and asked me to match, so I did. TBH I'm suprised as I assumed it was just a sales tactic to get the price back to what it was.
£450 in C+ over £410 in LFGSS, make sense why he cancelled dommyracer, he's simply a greedy little cunts.
He probably got a higher bid from someone else, that's his way of buying things on here. Get him banned, this has got to be his third strike at least.
^ a good eg of speculation.
I did not get any higher bid time was/is of the essence for me, I infact sold it for £5 less.
I sold it to hugo7 (alex, who had ironically contacted me before dom but was out of touch for a while)
I don't have much time in my hand to clear off things that I own.
Sorry domkarma
acting uncivilised gets you exactly what you give and Amey comes on here asking for help..... just piss off.Bit harsh.

HI Hilary,
This PM sounded demanding as it was the second one I sent. The first one I sent was asking if they had been posted about 2 weeks after I paid. I didn't hear back about whether they had been posted or not, hence the send PM requesting a refund.
Now I know they have been posted I am happy to wait a bit longer and see if they turn up. I just wanted to know if my order had been processed, which is reasonable.
Thanks

I bought a frame from ebay. The guy emailed me on the 21/09 saying it had been posted, it hasn't turned up yet and I emailed him three days ago asking him to check it out at his end but I've still not received a reply. This isn't really on is it?
I don't even want the frame, but I'm not being taken for a ride
-
• #974
has he got good feedback? Start talking about reporting him to ebay / paypal etc, might get things going
-
• #975
^^ i'm afraid if he allegedly sent it out on 21/09, then you've already missed your 45 days period, in which you can return funds via paypal
yes
and thanks for the explanaition guys =)
