Given it about a week now for a refund on some blatently used tubs which are punctured and labelled as brand new. No response no nothing. Prob best to steer clear of this dude https://www.lfgss.com/profiles/69890/

  • Had a shonky trade with @mike783, which earned him a mention in this thread last year.

Bearing in mind Velocios's comment at the time, you should flag this latest incident up to him.

  • Velocio has been pm'ed just now

  • Ooh, now I've read the full context, mike783 will be banned too. Doing it now.

  • This guy @user49859 (Craig) didn't bother showing up to meet me in the middle of the day at the meeting point he asked for. He didn't even have the dignity of replying to the texts I sent him either. I'd avoid doing any sort of deal with him.

I apologise in advance if he is in fact dead or seriously ill.

  • £50 surcharge for chancers and wankers

    Called it...

  • Yeah. Sold in the end but was annoying to have wasted my time.

  • Thats why I bumped; thought you didnt sell ..

  • Got me thinking about not dealing with people whose username is @user*****.

  • Bringing up an old subject.
Has anyone talked to Marcin "the Archangel" Rokicki?

  • your patience is admirable.

  • He's still on instagram, posting in london.

  • Anyone seen him lately?

  • Anyone had any experience buying from Goldsprint in Berlin? I ordered a flat crown track fork - when I went to the depot (Enfield) to pick up the parcel and it was empty. DPD have run an investigation and couldn't find the fork, so have said I need to contact Goldsprint to get a replacement/refund - I've sent 3 emails now without any response from the Goldsprint guys.

  • what weight was the parcel?

If it was weight at post office then should be easier to prove it was empty, just make sure you keep the box it was sent in with labels etc.

I always wondered how ebay doesn't have more of this shit going on as their auto-reimbursement service just works on tracking code info.

  • would like to ask a question here.. did a trade with someone - the part the person sent me was totally unusable (an axle with races so pitted, the moon seems like a flat mirror compared to it). i sent a perfect part.

had a word with the user and he agreed to put some money in for another axle i was going to buy as compensation. now, campag track axles for cup and cone bbs do not come around often (did not find one at the right price, so i have not spoken to him for a year).. quite some time has passed until i saw said user's ad for another product.

dropped a line expressing interest and requesting a discount (the amount he said he would put in the replacement axle). he said so much time has passed that i should not be expecting anything..

all this, while another user owed me 10 quid and sent it last week - a year from the return of the product i paid for.

am i wrong here expecting to get what we discussed? do these things "superannuate"? user was referring to paypal's 45 day policy..

  • If you were to make a claim against him for the loss, the statute of limitations is generally 6 years.

    Paypal's policy if Paypal's policy.

  • So I've been having a bit of headache with This frame I bought from majsterjanek. Mostly because majsterjanek seems to be neglecting my messages although he is upping his other sale threads in here.

Edit: At least got an answer after posting this. So, Majsterjanek did not pay attention to these details when he was disassembling a whole bike adn apologized for that . Don't know what to think about it, the frame wasn't that expensive so I'm just going to repair what is needed. I'll leave the pictures so you can make your own decision about the hassle.

BB shell threads were badly rusted. I can understand a little rust on a old frame but this had gone deep into the threads. I had to soak it a few days to get most of it out but the threads are still in such bad condition that other bb cup isn't going in nicely and I'll have to get the threads tapped at LBS.

Here is a picture of the BB shell before I started soaking and brushing it: Threads

Originally the seatpost clamp was used with just a bolt as there are threads at the other side but it came to me tightened with a bolt and a nut on the other side and you could see it was clearly overtightened. It had deformed the clamp and the upper area of the seattube and the original threads were pretty much destroyed because of the tightening with a nut.

These are bad photos, but the whole thing looked like this after taking the bolt and nut out:
    Twisted seatclamp
    And the threads:
    Threads

Because of the over tightening now when the seatclamp is straight, the bolt is clearly misaligned. I've put a bolt in there so you can see the misalignment :
    misalignment

And the threads are in such weak condition that they can't handle any tension without bolt slipping.

As I bought this frame with shipping, there are always risks involved because you can't see the frame in person. Of course I am not expecting a new frame without signs of life but these are the kind of things that in my opinion should be told on the sales thread.

  • Moving this, this and this from the Good Traders thread.

I'm guessing you've been using this forum longer than I have. You're presuming I knew about this functionality; I didn't. It's not obvious, otherwise why would I have posted in here? I'm not doing this for the fun of it, I just wanted to clear up a query I had with the sale.

I asked you if you had received the group and if you were happy with it; you replied that you were, so I deleted the PM: you think I've behaved unreasonably by not keeping a PM, the subject of which was concluded, in case at some point in the future you changed your mind and used on old PM and didn't see that you weren't actually sending it to anyone?

Deleting a PM is hardly a dark art. You could have e-mailed me using the address you have from Paypal. You could have tagged me in your build thread or here. Your ignorance of how to use the forum is not my responsibility.

I'll admit that I didn't spot the corroded cable anchor and bolt, that was my fault for not looking carefully through all the photos and checking specific details. It would have just been easier, and a courtesy, to let me know about it though. If something could potentially affect your sale, why not mention it? It wouldn't have made a difference in the end.

You didn't look at the photos I published? You also didn't inspect the components before confirming that you were happy with your purchase? You bought second-hand components without considering that their condition wouldn't be as new? IT'S A CORRODED BOLT FFS.

So you admit that the caliper isn't fully functioning, yet you're excusing yourself from this fact by making out that it's not something you think is necessary and presuming I wouldn't need it. This isn't acceptable behavior, I'm not sure why you think this is OK? I actually don't mind that the adjuster isn't working, as I said in my previous comment, but when I buy something I expect it to be in full working order; you should have checked this before selling it to me. I wonder what else might not be properly working.

No, I'm excusing myself because, as I've already told you, I didn't know the adjuster was rounded-off because I didn't use it: I have readily accepted your word that it was in that condition when you received it. As such I would have refunded you £20.

And you're the one that's pissed off? You've got an interesting way of looking at things. And to donate money to the forum just makes you look transparent - an obvious act to try and pardon yourself from your responsibilities as a seller.

Yes, I'm pissed off because you have made me out to be a shyster who deliberately misrepresented a sale, resulting in you buying unserviceable components rendering your bike beyond use and ignored your reasonable attempts to resolve the issue.

Whereas you are ignorant of what you chose to use, ie the forum; ignored the information (photos) and opportunity (upon receipt of the group) to determine it's condition; and publicly declaimed me based on the foregoing when you had alternative means and plenty of grounds (er... the Good Traders thread you started this in) to behave otherwise.

That's why the forum got £20 and you didn't.

  • Can vouch for the fact that @Scilly.Suffolk is a straight up, honest, pleasant and very generous person to trade with on here... has replied to wanted ads I've put up a few times and given bits for the price of postage when others would be hawking them at rrp. Apart from that he actually posts in threads related to well, cycling, bicycles and the act of riding them thereof rather than just pumping the forum's classified ads.

TruffleShuffle I've never heard of before and from what I've read, wouldn't want to trade with either.

Make of that what you will... I'm off to make a cup of tea.
