I don't suppose anyone on here is able to help me on this though? I can't do much from half way across europe, would love to know what has happened to Daniel though.

I mean he's completely vanished after being an active member for five years. To me it sounds like something that needs investigating. But all I have in terms of information has been posted already in this thread.

I will continue trying to get in touch with people who may have his address but in the meantime any and all help is appreciated.

Not much progress to speak of but I did manage to get in touch with some people from the old threads. Basically they all had deals go wrong with Daniel because he just disappeared.

I've tried contacting the few people on facebook who have commented or liked on the photos he has visible for me but no one is replying.

Any good ideas?

If there is a pattern of behaviour here then you might like to let the police know about it. Also, if he has been up to this before I'm a little surprised he survived on here to do it again.
I would think Velocio would also want to know if someone has been getting away with it over a period of time.

Set up a facebook account as an attractive young lady and send a request his way, get a load of info off him, if it doesn't work you could try friending his friends and then you might be able to see some of his stuff.

Although Velocio has advised that this does not appear to be an alias of mike783, he agrees that there are grounds for caution and I am not the only person to be suspicious (ref 01 and ref 02).

99,9% sure this is him as he had been living in Sweden for a time and there's a Swedish group this profile belongs to.

Daniel Prendergast does (or did) live in Sweden as I remember sending him something a while ago - I'll PM you.

Had a set of wheels left to sell, I dibsed, sent a PM, had a conversation with him regarding the wheels and he said he would get back to me with a postage cost.

Since then I havent heard a peep from him, i've sent a few PMs and had no response, he has been online and posted in other threads.

If he no longer has the wheels or does not want to sell them anymore then fair enough, a simple response saying so would have been appreciated.

I have money set aside for the wheels that could be spent elsewhere on less important things like bills/food.

I guess I have myself to blame here, bought a Profile chainring off him for my BMX last winter and never got round to fitting it, took it out of the packaging this week and it's absolutely fucked, severely worn, shark finned teeth, wouldn't put it any where near a bike.

So knowing that I have myself to blame for taking so long to open it, but also knowing that it is a cunty thing to sell such an unusable piece of scrap, I dropped him a very reasonable PM.

Not heard back and he's logged in since I sent it, not expecting great things but I think a refund is in order, even if it is months later.

Nothing wrong with selling shabby worn out gear... as long as you're open and honest about it and label it as such that is. Needless to say you should have checked when you first received the chainring, but having failed to do so hardly makes it your fault.
