no, i dont usually arrive at sales with tools, but will in the future thanks! is that what you do?
-
• #2128
no test riding it was my cursory check, it worked, i found out it was broken.
-
• #2129
well i do have other wheels, i think the seller is naive, if i was super naive, i could have hammered it on this wheel and crashed, he did in effect, sell me a "usable" fully working car without breaks, very dark behaviour.

is this just your stream of consciousness..?

• #2131
Okay, this is a wind up

nice work
could it be time to name and shame the seller, or is the forum going to support him?
-
• #2137
it could have been intentional, it could have been a mistake. If he's offered you a refund I would assume it's a mistake, if he hasn't then it was intentional.
-
• #2138
shouldn't this be in bad traders?
-
• #2139
Forum loves a good lynching.
But does Forum care?
lol, lol, well no im sure it doesnt, but it is edging towards almost honoring the seller for selling broken stuff as something working, is that cool? it's not really.
-
• #2140
Go on then, we're on the edge of our seats
-
• #2141
it wasn't broken when he sold it to you though as you test rode it. it could be asserted that you using a track wheel for a purpose not intended caused the catastrophic damage.

yea i stuck my cock it and it made thing explode, so quickly i didnt even have time to enjoy it, what do you think people use wheels for, farming?

• #2143
your conclusion suggests a dichotomy that doesn't exist.
Name & shame if you want. Why let what you think the forum's response be your guide?
almost!

sorry, just got to nip out and get the cows in, the dolan tarck will suffice!

yea and if you plant this wheel in the ground, it grows more fucking shit wheels, its like a fucking golden chicken, only its not a golden chicken, its a fucking broken wheel
-
• #2146
Sorry but this is excruciating. People don't use the fucken title line, unless you're the OP.
When you buy something privately (i.e not from a shop, a retailer or ebay), your one opportunity to "test" it is before you hand over the money. The only test is this - is it worth X to me? You have perogative to be as rigorous as you want with your examination, but once you've handed over X and walked away, it's over buddy. Deal done. Hence my first post - caveat emptor.

• #2147
*ponders usefulness of broken wheel tree
*empties piggy bank and offers marchant the entire 38 new pence for the golden chicken wheel
-
• #2148
Caveat emptor is bollocks, sorry Olly I disagree. Wheel is shite: demand cash back.

Dave - What outcome would make you happy here?
