  • ^^ His name is on the flickr account: Cis Verfaillie.. Lives somewhere in Northern Belgium (Harelbeke Bavikhove), I remember him having those frames on a marktplaats ad.. Come on, why are banks being cunts on this, they have the power to undo transactions right? Anyway, google search does turn up some results, including some youth camp he's a volunteer for.. They'll probably won't like to hear he's a thieving cnut.. I'lld chase the living hell out of him, let his surroundings know what he's up to in the internets, sorrow and hopefully reimbursement will come soon after..

  • ^ ladies and gentlemen - the awesome powers of the internets

  • I don´t know if I can redo the bank transaction, but I am going to report it to the police, maybe they can do something about the account nr etc.

    Sucks anyway, its a hassle.

Come on negativpol, don't let le bastard get away with it so easily! Chase his balls, it's 350 quid for christ' sake.. Help the karma sting back!

  • well I don't know if is Cis Verfaille.. as this is his real name(?), as the "Jean" trader goes with the email.. janvrbrgg87@gmail.com.

  • Yeah that's what I thought - there's no proof that it was the same guy selling the same frame twice or another guy just stealing his pictures.

I would have imagined all you can do is try and get the bank where the money was sent to recognise some kind of fraud has taken place. They then may be able to release the details of the account owner to the police. Can Velocio trace the position of the IP addressed used when the advert was posted on LFGSS? That might tell you something.

  • well Ive traced the Ip to this street in Gent..

    http://www.ip-adress.com/map/Map_of_Gent_in_Oost_Vlaanderen_in_Belgium/f67aa8f94d36d5ee42a4ca9293e05320

explain to the british plods, maybe they can contact their counterparts?

    or

car, 20 stone friend and a day in belgium!

  • If you believe the email address I would say his name would be Jan Verbrugge or something like Jan V*rbr*gge (Brugge being Bruges in Flemish). Unfortunately the name is as common as John Smith round here ( Or John Welsh for the geographical purpose) (and Jean is Jan in a french version and could be plausible as a nickname then)

It sux. That always deters me to buy things posted from people not having a REALLY good rep as traders.

  • Following on from my previous comment about JazzyThumper, just wanted to let anyone know reading this or searching through his name to see if he's legit or not etc. what happened in the end....

I had a few issues to begin with when buying the macbook, which were then followed by issues my end with a paypal error which was outside of my control but never the less, he remained very patient with me, and wasn't once arsey about the situation despite being kept waiting for a week by paypal.

Once payment had cleared there was another week delay before he posted the item, where there wasn't a great deal of initial contact, but he eventually got in touch to let me know when he could post etc, which was all correct and dealt with in a 'professional' manor.

Once the macbook arrived, I found a few problems with it, which I wasn't told about, so questioned Nic on this, and he dealt with it swifty, honestly and we came to an arrangement and we were both happy.
A few days later the hard drive died, which may or may not have been due to previous use, but I asked Nic about it, and again, we came to an arrangement, and was dealt with swiftly, and honestly and I now have a fully functional macbook for a very good price.

Guess what I'm getting at, in a round about , long winded way is, that he was patient, genuine and honest with me throughout all the issues and problems and that I would definitely recommend dealing with him. I can see he has got a bad press, and in some ways I can see why, as I know from experience how impatient people can be, including myself, and they are too quick to jump to conclusions, as I almost did myself. I hassled him a lot, and I suspect was the buyer from hell! But he still responded quickly when it mattered, was honest, and a genuine guy, would recommend dealing with.

If anyone want's anymore info on my experience with him, drop me a PM and I'll happily give you any details on the transaction you'd like.

  • I have had dealings with JazzyThumper and was perfectly nice to deal with... would recommend him to anyone!

  • **APOLLOXL **- had a frame painted up for him/her, will be ready for monday, get a message this eve along the lines of ..
"taking too long, bought another frame, bye"

    AVOID THE FUCKER

Should have listened to my gut instinct on this one, poor grasp of the English language, strange manor etc, suggest they are probably very young.

Everyone else I've dealt with other the past year or so on LFGSS has been lovely though :)

  • fuckin hell. he asks you to paint a frame for him then goes off and buys something else? What a retard

  • fuckin hell. he asks you to paint a frame for him then goes off and buys something else? What a retard

Then adds 'irrelevant' in comment to the link to this thread. Huh?

Douche with an attitude problem, it seems.

  • Out of interest, at what point is it acceptable to call shenanigans on a seller/transaction round here?

  • tell us what's happened so far without naming & shaming...

  • Sent a paypal payment for something of fairly low value, just £30, a couple of weeks ago, was told it should be with me but last sat.

Nothing showed, PM'd seller who said if it wasn't with me by Monday just gone, he'd look into it. Nothing arrived monday so PM'd him to ask what's going on. No response. Also left message on wall. No response and I know he's logged in in the interim.

I don't use paypal for various reasons (housemate sent it for me) so if I am being jipped (which seems a bit daft for a measly £30) am I likely to get it back?

  • did you send it as gift? Otherwise you can do a claim I think

  • Dunno...will find out. Ta.

  • Yeap paypal will sort you out, but takes a couple of weeks. Royal mail have some rule that its not considered lost until its a month overdue.... and any item is insured automatically up to £42 just hope the seller has the receipt....

However, there's nothing to say the seller has even sent it. Search their name in good and bad trader threads and check out their previous sales threads if they have any....

  • The trader in question changed their username after the sale, which rang alarm bells somewhat!

Will give it another day or so to let him reply and then start shizz. Ta for advice KoM!

  • Via paypal if you use the normal method and don't mark it as 'gift' then you are pretty well protected regardless :)

In addition to my frame sale fail, the buyer had asked for me to chop braze-ons off, because it would make it look better. I declined, wasn't exactly puppy killing, but still...
Have a local person who is currently interested for a touring build for next summer, if that fails (guy is meandering) then its going to complete the GREAT circle back onto LFGSS :P

  • He's a time wasting dick then and rightly should be named and shamed. It's not like he change his mind about something, because he was busy or was short with money (happens to everyone) - he actually comminted himself and made you invest time/money.

    Poots, how's your purchase?

  • Still waiting to hear from the seller - no response to various messages. Time to name and shame?

  • go!
