I am sorry your ring was posted ages ago - I will put a trace on it at the Post Office. Please let me know where to refund your money.

As oz. said, people have other stuff to tend to, and in Hilary's case, some pretty personal family matters. Always remember that this forum offers the WWW experience in trading. Don like it? eBay is ------------------------------------->
Then post that in you advertise. When i buy something from a person or shop I would like the shit to arive asap.
If you can't post asap then tell people or don't sell. -

My friend and i bought a bike from forum member Goreggiego.
The next day the front inner exploded. We replaced it.
5 minutes later the new one exploded.
We replaced it again. Half an hour later the new one exploded.I contacted Goreggiego to tell him about this.
He said, "Yes, the same thing happened to me 3 times!"That concludes my review of Goreggiego.

What rim? What tyre? Size of the inner tube?
It can be a touring rim, narrow 23mm tyre, inner tube which is 23-25mm or bigger... Whatever. Sounds like a pinch flat.
Remove the tyre and inspect the rim. Replace the rim tape. -

You're doing it wrong.

Do you practice backwards circles? You've just performed a backwards sale

HILARY STONE
sold me a chain breaker that broke first time I used it
after sending hima few messages he said
It looks like it was used on a chain with rivetted over pins
I sent a photo of the totally standard izumi chain I used it on and he never got back!

Just because something broke after you bought it doesn't necessarily mean that the seller is a bad person. If the weakness was not to his knowledge then it's fair for him to sell it. He probably never got back as it seemed to be a waste of time arguing about something he sold thinking it was in good condition. No seller has to take something back. I've been at the shitty end of an user error stick before. You end up tarring everyone with the same stick.
-
• #1288
you tar things/people with brushes, non?
Other than that, I agree with you. Hilary sells things that are vintage/used and as such can't be expected to be in brand new (i.e. perfect) condition.

Were still on sticks here in Wales.

Whatevs mate. I know he is generally a good seller, and a very busy chap, but the thing was brand new, being used correctly, and broke immediately. If the boot was on the other foot I'd refund. That is all.

Then you'd be a good chap going beyond your duty. If Hilary had made the product I'd be with you but he's just reselling. If the product was fine when he sold it to you, you can't blame him for it's poor workmanship.

Well, if the tool was brand new, has been used correctly and did break immediately then surely it is up to the seller to refund or replace? You would expect that from your LBS. They should refund you and then take it up with the manufacturer or supplier.
-
• #1293
This thread is full of lose.
-
• #1294
But as he isn't an LBS I wouldn't expect him to do as such.

I will replace the Cyclo chain tool but I have never seen another Cyclo chain tool broken if used correctly – a large amount of force has to be used to break one of the most reliable and proven tools which is very widely used in shops and which has been made in their millions...

• #1296
I used one to push riveted pins out yesterday, it didn't break.
-
• #1297
I've bent the removable pin that pushes the rivets out, on one. Totally user error though. I'd lost the extra bit that came with it too (fffffffuuuuuuuu etc.).
Went and bought the exact same tool to replace it, as I'm still convinced they're solid.
