  • Sounds like a good idea. I'm going to let this one slide. My time will come. Thanks for the pics and info though.

  • I saw this on CRC, thought it might be useful in this thread:
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=80651

  • There was a stallholder at Herne Hill jumble on Sunday who had this little beauty for sale:

    20120401_134720

He was looking for around £175 for it, and it was in decent nick, with almost everything original. He'll be back on Friday if anyone's interested

  • I almost brought it for my g/f but decided against it, it is in fantastic nick (there's a very tiny clink on the front rims), everything work perfectly, and I reckon you can try and haggle the price down abit.

    not too heavy too.

By the way - top tube is 54cm.

  • I've just posted an ad in the Classifieds for some Dura Ace 7700 hubs built onto Mavic Open pro 650c rims, should anyone be looking for some?? - can be found here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread84003.html

Frame that went with them is now sold

  • How damaged is the frame? Do you have any pics? I am very interested.

  • Shoosh - I've pm'd some pics.....

  • Fuji Track 650c (track)
    IRO Mark V HD (track)
Pro Lite TheOne Mini Race (road bike)
Trek 1.2 (*Tek not importing this any more I think?)
    B'TWIN Sport 1
Islabikes (any bikes, like the luath 26)
    Cervelo P1/2/3
    Argon 18 Xenon 650
    Dawes Espoir 2010 Kid's Bike
Moda Major Road and cross versions.
    Argon 18- Xenon 650

still very very hard to find decent bikes for smaller riders.

  • That remind me to update the list, as most of the bike is likely to be discontinued.

  • Ed I was trying to recommend a bike for a shortish woman recently, where can I find the smaller Pinnacle geometries?

  • The smallest one I know of have a top tube of 50cm (give or take), not much choice in sizing compared to the Specialized I'm afraid.

    edit, found them; http://www.evanscycles.com/product_document/file/638/a3b/a86/1284/pinnacle-gabbro-geometry-data.pdf

  • thx, I couldn't get the geometries off the website at all??? where are these hidden? I got redirected to the pinnacle webbo site which was as much use as a chocolate teapot, size guidance based on height etc.

  • I notice that too, other Gabbro model didn't show the geo, you have to go through each pinnacle bike to find the geo chart.

  • Dolan still do the 650 wheel Kadet??
£400 and semi-customisable build (stem length, bar width)

NB there is an issue with running this on the street, not sure if you can get a brake calliper to fit- the drop on the current fork to the rim is around 50mm, so I am going to have a fiddle to see if something like the Shimano long drop calliper will work.

Sorry to be an edit bore but I think the longer drop Shimano or Tektro calliper will be OK, just called Dolan and the fork IS drilled.

  • Just wanted to share my fixed gear built from an old Junior Raleigh Winner originally with 24" wheels.

It was supposed to be built with 650c (571)wheels and 24-571 Tyres, but the rims were incorrectly advertised and ended up being 26" which I only found out after the rims were built.

I am 5'2 and I normally ride 45cm, 700c Road Bike and although this bike is small, this bike works very well for me, solid and quick and by far the most fun being fixed gear.

  • Cheers for the update Scherrit.

  • Very nice 49cm square 650c Dave Lloyd in classifieds: https://www.lfgss.com/thread98166.html

  • Barring a major disaster I'll be visiting Islabikes on 27 March to test ride their Luath small and the Benin 26. This could be interesting as I'm used to riding bikes with 650c wheels.

I'll report back, hopefully the following day.
