  • Slow progress. Still trying to settle on the three key variables of what we will spend, what we want the house to be like, and where we want to leave. Something has got to give.

  • Don't give up on where. This corner of SE is a veritable bucolic paradise.

  • Ever been to stoke newington church street Tatty its lovely

  • I had some friends who used to love in the converted chapel on DeFoe road. Stokey - lovely to visit, but hell when you're stuck there and the prams come out.
(or the gospel choir next door wake you up with their reverie every sunday morning)

  • Yeah the prams piss me off impossible to go for a coffee with out babys crying. However if you are thinking about having babys at least you know your not going to stick out.

  • Possibly in, possibly doing solo laps.

    Possibly not helpful.

  • To be fair, during the day the Bellenden/E Dulwich is much the same. Just another of those places people go to for spawning, like salmon upstream.
Stokie lacks proximity to the velodrome, which was a key factor when I was looking for places to live.

  • Really need to get on with this Rolla flyer instead of talking nonsense on the internet.

  • Clissold Park is quite nice, went there quite a bit when I lived in the area, StokeFest was a laugh.

Still just too close to East London though really.

Chap I knew at the time was reading his book in Clissold Park, bike next to him, chap came up to him, said "can I have a word?", Andy stood up, chap knocked him out, stole his bike.

  • Sounds awfully civilised. In Peckham they don't wait for you to stand up.

    #southlondonone-upmanship
    #notactuallytrue

  • You mean just far enough from east london, its been decided in the east beers thread that the jolly butches is in east london but the entire of church street is north or north east.

Also Clissold park now has a fancy cafe, river and skate park so I am sure stuff like that doesn't happen any more

  • Also stokey is a great launch pad into essex and epping forest etc. Where as Peckham is a great launch pad into crystal meth. (stokey is all about crack)

  • Didn't they get rid of the deer too? I know they got rid of something. Still got the terrapins?

  • Currently live in Highbury, but at one time lived on Stoke Newington high street. The choice is between that area or moving Peckham way. You get more bangs for your buck south of the river, but the commute for my gf is bad. I'm sure we will figure it out.

6pt - you making a flyer for the Rolla open meeting?

  • Deer are still there, terrapins would have been drained with the lake but may now be back, resilient creatures

  • ^^Supposed to be. Got a blank a5 document and an .eps of the rolla logo so far. Progress!

  • I do like Epping forest.

    #dogging

  • Sean gave me 'Rollapaluza Track Meeting' as a title. If you can think of something snappier it's going on.

  • comic sans place and time, its kitsch
