6pt, hi, upstart, alright, damo, hows it going? jenny j, hi. Do you still need more power? I have some power somewhere in my legs sometimes and would like to cycle a little more than just to and from work. Are there any requirements or is there anything to gauge wether I possess a sufficient amount of power? I normally cycle to work which is 3 miles in around 10 mins more if I stop to rest at the traffic lights. I have a 54xsomething at the back. thank.you.
you've misunderstood if you think I'm actually involved in riding this...for me, it's all about the hills...

Hills, yes! This route is just straight out of my door in Germany. [ame]http://www.bikemap.net/route/647174[/ame]
Good sense of humour the German's have as well. The site where I found this route translates paincave.de

This is still on despite dampness, running a tiny bit behind though!

Am already here! Sky is blue and it's drying out nicely....

Fussball, am I correct in suggesting that the subtext of that post was 'Let's all go to Germany and ride some hills"?
(There seem to be quite a lot round there, and they all look rather entertaining) -

Never looked at my neighbourhood with a cyclists eye until I got the the chance to get myself a road-bike there today. Should fit and do the job as well! There is enough space and peoples that like those hills are welcome.

It dried out once! Wasn't as bad as it could have been, but then I didn't have anyone spraying water up into my face.
-
• #286
LOL. That's not why I left early. I was just still feeling rough. I am certainly looking forward to winter!

@BMMF: Yes, Continental. I've also encountered a few tales from folk whose Conti tyres have suffered a similar fate. Whether or not this is of significance I'm unsure, but I'm now tempted to try summin new. Dunno. [/shiftingbrandloyalty]

that was good stuff.
the trip to bright times was good. stopping, standing around, then trying to cycle home, not so good. -

My legs hurt. I blame you, Thomas
-
• #290
Is that good hurt or bad hurt?
-
• #291
Good. Kinda.
I knew pain was on the cards when you hit the aero bars on lap one.
Lap one!

Damo, I don't know how you do it - I nearly had a cardiac episode trying to keep up with 6pt as we went past the mosque - and you're running an even lower gear than me

I did a "fucking exercise bike" thing this evening (well, rollers). It wasn't meant to be so far outside my comfort zone, but I was taxing systems that haven't really been taxed for a while, and overestimated what level I could sustain for the time I intended to be 'doing work'.
Straight afterwards, I ate a meal. I mean within 5 minutes of finishing. The meal included oyster mushrooms, but by the time I finished eating, I suspected they may have been magic mushrooms, as I was hallucinating in that magic mushroom way. Properly phased and mental.
Burning approx 1100 calories in 1hr, in the doorway between my living room and my kitchen, at 9pm on a Friday evening, has made my legs hurt. I sort of wish I'd just done some magic mushrooms, and punched my thighs for a few minutes. Would've been less hassle.
I'm fucking hungry again now…

Come along, see how it goes. If you can't hang on, the park is still a pleasant enough place to pedal round for a bit and stretch the legs. We'll be meeting in the inner circle of Regents Park, at the gate opposite York Bridge. I aim to get there for half 6, then hang around for a bit to wait for any stragglers. The suffering starts soon-after.
