Yeah, 66" usually, then I flip the wheel round to 74". Fixed/fixed hubs ftw
I've got fixed/fixed.
That's what I was thinking....

What cogs/chainring combo are you using? I'm thinking of something similar, but wondered if moving to a smaller cog would move the axle too far back.

I swap from a 16 to a 19 without issue atm, which is plenty of GI jump for your 'I want to go quicker' needs. Could get away with more if I wanted.

I'll be rollin' on 48x17 (but not this week as i'm not here!). I can hold 18-20mph no bother but struggle to go quicker than that without upping the GI's.

If you run 66 and average 32 kmh round the park average cadence would be around 100 rpm. Up towards 40 kmh would be closer to 130. Doesn't sound to spinny to me, but I guess it depends how fast you will be riding.
-
• #2682
but that's an average, got to factor in traffic lights.
-
• #2683
True, but I doubt moving average would be a great deal higher. Spinning at 110 might be just the ticket, depending on what your objectives are.
-
• #2684
Depending on traffic lights (how many of the 3, timing thereof) moving avg is usually 1 to 3mph faster. Ish.

130 avg is pretty spinny for an hour.
Has riding fixed changed you to a spinner?

• #2686
I am going to do this. People riding fixed I can either run 49 17 or 49 15. I want to try and match up to most people atm I will leave it at 49 17 (74.5)
What time is everyone arriving, early?

• #2687

Nah - I just factored in my slowness!
Definitely changed the cadence to the extent I am spending a lot more time in the inner ring on the geared bike now though.

5-6 means I might get involved. If my body sorts itself out, was not happy pushing pedals today.

• #2691
May well be in next week.

• #2692

-
• #2693

Gotta wait for a bloke to come fix the oven. And I'm lazy. So I'll be staying at home with a good book instead of going round in circles in the sun.

Hour of power wouldn't be the same without all excuses.
I should be doing solo laps anyway
