    • lots. We kept a pretty decent train last night but the swapovers were a bit random. We gave that geared guy some respite on the back before he dragged us for most of a lap.

Not forgetting Woodie's epic red mist tow because he thought it was the last lap. On lap 7....

Yeah that hurt, still it dragged the average up and I almost did the same on the last lap.

Was a good ride last night and nice meeting people, I thought the group worked well together, maybe a plan could be for second in line to move through rather than wait for the person on the front to swing over - would that make it less random?

  • ChainFaller, Ill see you Saturday for some pre HOP whistle action (MarathonRide/Getting lost2011) - Stoners, I dont want to be hearing about Migraines ;) Hope you made it to the 3rd last night

  • You want to do the marathon run in an HOUR... Feck...

Made it and aced it. Cheers J! Might pop in for a couple of pre-marathon ride pints depending on how my long one goes tomorrow.

  • No chance, Ill have done my ride and I dont think 26 (or probably 30 with getting lost) is doable in close to that time...(is it Tom?)

  • Wait, i got negged by 6pt? harsh times!

  • Seems like everyone (except brave) are about the same level so should work!)

Whoa! Hang on.. is this a dig? You'll be getting a neg from me as well

I mean you're much fast than us, aren't you? :)

  • ^suck up

  • sucking up so he sits on the front the whole of the hour = good tactics

  • also, get yourself to hour of power!

  • yEAH hb.. htfu

  • capslockfail

  • I read that as cockslap...

  • That's a totally different hour of power

  • often find it easier chain ganging in groups that are exclusively fixed and single speed/gears. Slightly different rhythms and consistencies

    Enjoyed the ride thanks

  • jamie and brave present, but I'm elsewhere :(
(picking up the Look tomorrow. thinking of naming it either "hack bike" or "park beast". it shall be getting park duties after easter.)

  • I thought you might find that a bit of a bummer. A proper challenge for you, and you're not around!

I'll prolly be there for a pasting, for what it's worth.

I've been ignoring the whole marathon ride thread, not sure about it because I'm tracking both days this weekend. BUT. moving average, well regimented two up, route on the Garmin. No traffic. Might just be possible.
(realistically, 3 minute miles is more likely, so 1hr20 for the lot?)

  • fuck, what day is thursday???
i might be in barcelona:-( crap!

  • Thursday is Thursday.

  • I was wondering who'd claim cheeky git award- glad it was you :-)

  • Thursday, 1830hrs for 1845 departure at the large gate opposite York Bridge, Inner Circle. Then up and out for some anti-clockwise Outer Circle fun.

20mph average, but if you can't hold on, worry not! Form your own little pootle-bus for light relief. Lap times are irrelevant, but there's a possible slow lap/rolling rest after the first 4. Stop after 8 laps/22 miles. Or earlier, if you're a slacker (no shame in that). A little bit of a rest, then off to LMNF for recovery.

    -----limit of 6pt's responsibility-----

    1. Brave (cheating)
    2. ThreadBreaker (also cheating)
    3. Nelaii (all black)
    4. upstart (74" fixed)
    5. laner (81" fixed)
      6.pt (in spirit)
    6. Stonehedge (8.5" erect)
      8.fade
9.modest (cheating unless i have a new bike)
    7. JAMIE

Worried people weren't appreciating that there wasn't really a cap, so any reference to such has been removed :)
