I was trying to argue that the mallet pictured above is safe, as is Aidan's!
no its not, it has a spike, hit me in the face with aidans mallet rather than that thing any day.

Why 2nd chainrings are nasty...
(...and also why soft leather shoes might not be so good for polo after all.)

(look at the man in the right bottom corner)makes a good case for using wheel covers

Photoshopped.

they didn't have brakes, and were upper class therefore void of any sense.

if he'd had wheel covers his foot might not have gone through the wheel, his shin bone might have been forced up out of his thigh which would probably be irreparable and mean amputation from below the hip would be on the cards.
ban wheel covers and strong spokes. stay indoors.

Wheel covers are and always will be personal choice.

Wheel covers are personal choice and always will be until extremebiggayhoserball sells out to ESPN2 and we all need the space for sponsors' logos.

you've already got could-be sponsor on your disk wheel, though.

people sticker up their bikes with brands anyway. it's already happening. My socks say 'Bridgedale' on them, I'm such a corporate sell out.

I admit I'm missing an "a" (between "got" and "could-be"), but Skoota commenting on my skills when it comes to written communication is like Ray commenting on my spelling (which I admit is an aspect of written communication, but I couldn't think of anything else to compare it to that still burned Ray).

It helps.
Crimping brake cables on a bike is normal isn't it? They always become frayed and a bitch to do anything with if you don't crimp.
I have the end of the bolt sticking out of my mallet head filed down so it's not sharp - If your mallet hits other people than that's down to bad play. a bit of a tap is fair but a clout is just ignorant.
A lot of the 'rules' people are throwing up is basic stuff that often don't need to be mentioned. It's only because of the thick headed people who say "technically" a lot that we need set rules. Whats wrong with being friendly to each other and making some attempt not to injure some other person that you don't know.
In our area the only rule we have is that a bike have bar ends. Rules make things too serious, seriousness destroys fun. Same as the reason why we don't have scoreboards - it's more fun to try and remember the score halfway through a game
