I think that Canonbie is worse than Anerley, no?
-
• #53
can get up canonbie on 84 inches with a bit of swearing and straining. anerley is longer and a little more unpleasant.
-
• #54
Its the length of Anerley that kills me, short/sharp is fine.
-
• #55
bugger. i haz 65 gear inches. i'll be walking up some bits.
-
• #56
^^ this (no, ^^ ^^^^ that)

Which side? If you get up the 18% short side on 84", then I am suitably impressed.

• #58
probably ^that.
-
• #59
looooong side. will give short side a go tonight though, just to see :)

Good man. I think I've seen you go up Exedown on 84", so I know you are quite the climber.
-
• #61
yup that's about right. zig zag ftw. wouldn't call me 'quite the climber' though. more determined, slow and stupid.

It's those fucking traffic lights on Anerley. They always go red just as you hit them.
So... were you guys planning to do this NEXT weds as in 21st? Not sure that's a good idea for me as I'll be crying up Swain's Lane the next evening.
I might have a little grimp up some of these roads tomorrow if anyone wants to join in.
-
• #63
i too am confused as to whether we're next weds or this weds (tomorrow). double booked biking and boozing, need to pick one. clarification required.
-
• #64
I think it is planned for Wed 21st. But as it happens I can't do either.
6pt can't do Thurs.
Andyp can't do an Weds.
I can't do this or next Weds.
TNRC is every other Tuesday, but is on for the next 3, with the Bath deluxe. Why don't we al ride it when we fancy it, starting at 7:30 at the foot of Court Lane. If you hapen to coincide, then great, if not then talk about it on here.
What say you, proto-grimpeurs?

the best laid plans of mice and men, etc. the non-plan plan sounds just dandy.
-
• #66
right then.
who wants this?
i'm starting to itch. 65" doable? -
• #67
I'd be up for it, I have a new bike to break in.

this week then. i will endeavour to be at court lane on thursday and will atempt to remember the way there.
I'd like to do this too, if it is next week. I know for a fact that the non-compact gearing and weird cassette on my road bike wont let me get up Anerley Hill unless I'm very lucky, but I should be able to cope with everything else. In the meantime I was going to do steady reps of College Road (Dulwich) until I fall over one night this week, if anyone wants to join me?
