"Happiness depends on what you

"Truth is the glowing light within us all"
"Humility is the key that unlocks the knowledge of the soul"
"Hate is the dark shadow of the heart"
"Shoes are like gloves, but for your feet"
etc etc . . blah blah blah.
I could probably write a very simply little piece of scripting that could churn this banal shit out for if you want, just think you only need hit a key and some random wisdom is generated to guide you through your day.

Soon the light will shine out of my ass! Success at last.

[a deflated jesus, getting his ass whooped in a boxing match by satan, turns to the south park lads for advice]
Stan: You know, somebody once said, “Don’t try to be a great man, just be a man.”
Jesus: Who said that?
Stan: You did, Jesus.
Jesus:[inspired] You’re right, Stan. Thank you, boys!
Kyle: Wow, did he say that in the Bible?
Stan: Nah, I saw it on Star Trek. -

man that is deep
#furiouslyclappingforthisprick^Well that's kind of the point, it's not deep, it's pseudo-profundity of the type you quoted ("Truth is the breath of my life" ...etc).
My point is that anyone can knock out this kind of crap, it appeals to an audience who willingly drink up anything that ticks the right boxes.
Stick the words 'wisdom', 'truth' and 'life' into a blender and out comes anther cup of profundity soup.
[Edit]
Here you go, Daniel Dennett has a good take on this theme:

"Deepity" is one of my favourite recent coinages.

I wouldn't say pseudo-profundity is either motivated by self-interest or worthless, nor are it's peddlers and consumers insincere.
I would say it's more rooted in wilful intellectual dishonesty and emotional thinking, it's adherents are incredibly sincere and take a lot of comfort from the inane ramblings of the various posturing gurus.

I do like Daniel Dennett. Read a couple of his books, hard going but worth while. I never realised he was a proper beardy weirdy though

I like reading Marcus Aurelius, and dropping random statements into a void of random onlookers via the modern electronic medium
