You can't throw the rubbish out the window if you're in the building.
-
• #3581
How are you meant to make your car fucking stink if you do that?
-
• #3582
Listen to podcasts in the car.

..how Nando’s became a cheeky Nando’s
-
• #3585
I think "a cheeky Nando's" is a way of describing a visit to one of their branches, not a label for the thing itself.
-
• #3586
What’s the rep of Nando’s, apparently there’s a few in Canada but never had the pleasure.
-
• #3587
A cheeky Nando’s is what you might consider having after a few scoops of lager after work on a Friday before going home
-
• #3588
Nando’s is a restaurant franchise from South Africa established in the mid 80s. Peri peri recipe used to marinate chicken hails from Mozambique, with black and Portuguese influence I am assuming from its colonial past.
Nando’s is where we tend to go before a gig.. tonight was Micky Flanagan at the O2 arena.. on tonight’s performance 2 stars.. 5 years since his last tour. His material was okay, reinforcing stereotypical views to a 99% white audience, but the venue I think is too big for comedy. Same from David Chapelle last year.. a bit flat..

Thanks, just trying to get a handle on where it sits on the cultural spectrum, this helps!

Nando's in general. I've never had anything from there, cheeky or otherwise.
-
• #3591
I thought it just existed purely as a safe place for strangers to meet pre-sex. Is that not where the 'cheeky' part comes from?
-
• #3592
maybe, I always associated it with bloke speak.. so maybe termed as a cheap date
-
• #3593
I thought it was just a nandos between meals
-
• #3594
A cheeky pint at lunchtime/after work is similar. Something you're a bit guilty about, a bogwank perhaps.

This Times article is 10 years old but does explain it a bit: https://archive.is/Kfv94
(Towards the end, not the A list bit)

• #3596
Cheeky or not, surely we all agree that nandos is wank.
-
• #3597
Wank at a modest sit down price though, convenient with minimal service, also good enough for Rihanna, Obama, Beyoncé, Nicola Adams, Beckham
-
• #3598
Nah, I quite like a Nandos. Surprisingly good vegan options.
-
• #3599
No you're right, I should always judge quality by the endorsement of celebs.

Meh. I like a Nandos, cheeky or not.
Often make it (chicken in pitta) at home too using the marinades.
Standover?
