The whole film is designed to baffle. Nothing else, just baffle.
I Kant believe you think Im joking. Not it isn't ...
All they have done is mix some ideas of Computer Games (being able to be faster than the other people on the matrix, like you are superhuman in a computer game), with some ideas of Rene Descartes, (I think therefore I am) and stuff about computer bugs (deja vu etc).
Mr Smith was a Boss character in a computer game, you can defeat him because you know what rules he has to comply to (just like a boss in a computer game).
Sorry as a computer nerd that know how to use pretty much every computer system in the last 20 years, I had no problems understanding the ideas of the 1st Matrix movie.
Nor did I have problems understand the really long speech that everyone got confused about by the Architect in the second the movie. Basically the matrix, was by it namesake, as huge computer simulation full of calculations and Neo was the unknown constant. Basically some mathematical ideas that the writers really didn't understand spliced into the plot of the first movie.
The third movie was total shit and basically made Keanu Reeves Jesus.

then Jesus got sad and sat on a bench

And realised he got Typecast as Neo and that his acting was shit in Point Break.

I Kant believe you think Im joking. The film's main material are a number of philosophical themes loosely grouped around Descartes' idea of the 'evil daemon' who may be conceived as systematically deceiving people about their perception of reality:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_daemon
This idea has had many incarnations and is reflected in the more modern thought experiment of the 'brain in a vat':
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain_in_a_vat
Interpreted charitably, the film (which I uncharitably think is appalling rubbish, or maybe I've just never 'got' it) can be seen as a reflection on the subject of human estrangement. While I don't remember any of the plot, I thought at the time that it had no quality and was logically extremely inconsistent.

I thought Neo was the devil and God at the same time and the Matrix was our souls and Neo wanted to always steal our souls so that was why he was always fighting the Matrix.

And I still haven't found what I'm looking for. Life eh?

I should add that I wasn't particularly motivated to see parts two and three, and accordingly didn't.

I wish I hadn't seen them, they were so bad, they somehow managed to time travel and make the first one bad as well.
I liked the first one, until the second one was released. The first movie had some suspense, had a story, and everything followed logically throughout the whole movie. Good solid movie.

I really hope you are taking the piss or your IQ is less than 100. Whichever the matrix is probably the easiest lot of films to understand ever, especially after it nicked loads of ideas from Japanese Anime films such as Ghost in the Shell.
You say : "' the matrix is probably the easiest lot of films to understand ever"
And you claim these words as your own
But I've read well, and I've heard them said
A hundred times (maybe less, maybe more)
If you must write prose/poems
The words you use should be your own
Don't plagiarise or take "on loan"
'Cause there's always someone, somewhere
With a big nose, who knows
And who trips you up and laughs
When you fall
Who'll trip you up and laugh
When you fall -

Really couldn't give a fuck tbh.
Matrix is easy to understand for anyone that understands at a conceptual level science, computers and a bit of philosophy.
Saving Private Ryan goes on for hours and hours and hours it seems and I would rather watch undisputed III.

Heh, I certainly remember it as completely and utterly illogical and full of plotting inconsistencies. :)

Most movies are ... I watched Equilibrium the other day and managed to spot at least 3 gaping holes in the logic of the story.
Then agian it has cool action scenes with guns and swords ... so I forgave it.

Mustard whats not to get?
I get them all but the English kind
They mess you up, your Larkins and your Morrisseys,
They send you on unnecessary mental odysseys.
You end up nothing short of barking,
With every grammar circuit sparking.
