ARRRGH. Still torn about which bikes to try out.
Which one is the best colour?

I mean In my head it's not really gonna be the SST. TI don't like curved frames aesthetically.
And I know I would be disappointed if I didn't look at it and love it...
The Trek and Foil are the top contenders atm. -

The SST is definitely not out of the running, though...

The Trek and Foil are the top contenders atm. This is important too. I find Treks dull. Not sure why. No technical reason. Just do. So I would'nt by it. Its a hobby item, purchased to make me happier. So whether its the right colour, matters as much as whether groupset is this years or last years.
The Scott is bloody sexy looking. And I can tell I'd love the ride. But I'd also go bankrupt shaving nearly 2KG of blubber off it.

The scott ISN't heavy though, claimed weight is 7.9kg (not light, ok) but the SST is 7.84 with a lighter groupset. I mean. Most likely I would as you say shave a few grams here and there with better crankset and calipers etc. But weight isn't a massive issue in my eyes.

Needs deeper wheels, and it could be quite porny.
I agree, but the stem really needs to be slammed on these new frames with enormous headtubes, otherwise it looks awful.

Thats the thing though. You can slam the stem. Even if you are a mortal.

That trek actually looks ok.
When did treks start looking ok?

Would.

Did'nt realise the Fuji was in the same ballpark.
My internet expert opinion is to buy the Scott.
Then put really fast looking wheels on it.
Well test ride the 3 of them (Scott, Madone, and Fuji).

No it doesnt. It looks boring.
Does have a clever inbuild-a-ble Ant+ cadence, and speed sensor though. Which is nice.
This is'nt nice though. It over takes you, tempts you to hold its wheel despite the building lactic, and oxygen deposite. Then drops you, without pity.
Grrrr.

I would'nt get alu at £2k. Even if it is a caad.
The CAAD10 Ultegra does seem underwhelming at £2k. Aksiums?
Would be better to try the 105 (or Rival?) version out with the view to whacking some mad bling deepsections on it, obviously.

Would.
You'd need to invest in full Lampre kit though.

Can Evans sell you a Giant?
The TCR is the nuts.
If a bit un-rad.

They have that stiff, short wheelbase, yet stable ride though. Much like my BMC. Gotta love them.
Although I've only ridden one a size too big for me.ftfy
Good call.

Safety in traffic, innit.

Wouldn't buy any of them. They are a combination of: ugly, underspecced or (like the foil) will ride like wood...If I had to pick, it would be the Madone, as it's the least ugly.
2k is a hell of a lot of money to drop on a bike, so make sure you get something you're in love with.

Not if you're always trying to kill yourself because of the colour of bike you bought. ;)
