I was thinking to get a serious carbon road bike in the near future. At the moment I have two options Canyon Aeroad CF 7.0 (Ultegra) or Planet X N2A (Sram Red). Both in region of 2.5k. Which one and is there better options?
for 2.5k the koga miyata kimera is also well worth considering, but of the two above canyon is the stand out.

Are these actual recommendations? How do you know which is the better bike?

An ultimate AL Di2 and a set of race wheels? Maybe a good option if they're as good as the hype.

Canyon is obviously the better bike.
By a mile. -

...or there's always the Legend 7.5 for £2,999 with full Chorus 11 and a custom paint job

£3k is the frameset only.

Ah right....
Well in that case it really is a serious carbon job then. From the sound of review, almost worth every penny though.

Both boring options. I'd get a much more high end frame with a cheaper group and upgrade the group when it wears out (105/centaur?) Enigma ti? Condor carbon? Damn you could get a cervelo or something.
Oh and rowhan the 3k for the legend is frame only.

As yetidamo just said...

Dimi - you might want to take a peek at the current ridiculous discounts in evans too.
£4,499£2,999 Di2 BMC Racemachine/ifonlyihadthemoney..

Slow response...
Seriously you're not going to get a bad bike for that money, so get what makes you happy. Canyon and px are hard to beat for vfm but they're so bland, ymmv. -

Tis a good point.
If you're a shorty like me, this is an awsome starting point.......

No, they're actual opinions, and just like arseholes..

don't see many planet x's in the pro peloton.
-
• #4423
Plenty of arseholes though!
-
• #4424
Scherrit, bike whisperer, rated them very highly.
Enough for me.And canyon design their own frames. Planet x, well that's questionable. Most are open mould chinese frames.
-

A frame only becomes 'open mould' when you don't pay enough for exclusivity. You could argue those savings are likely to be passed on, giving a better frame for the money.
I don't think those are sram cranks
