You could try some 10 speed Campag shifters, the pull ratio is meant to be close enough to work.
You might want to run one of these.
Re cables...
The road bike gets new brake and shifter inners every 2ish years, outers I've only changed once in the last 5 years. If you stick them in Strava as a component you can keep track of their mileage.
The fixed/ss bike gets treated to the worst weather and that gets new cables about 1k km after the brakes stop working and I get round to it.

Specificity rules. You become an expert at riding heavy bikes a bit slowly. The light bike feels just that, but then it takes a few weeks of riding it to become any good at riding it. Then you probably eat a packet of almonds, only to find that the last one is rancid so that you're left with a tainted oral cavity.
life is like a bag of almonds

I like the contrast from an enjoyment point of view. But riding the mad heavy cargo bike, fecks my cadense, bulks my legs, and makes me corner slowly.
This is probably why you dont see any pros riding Mundos on the weekends.

In that case it's a good timing to get the Cannondale to train on to prepare for the 1400km audax.

I'm swapping components over to a new (to me) frame and was just running through things which need to be replaced and could potentially be improved in the process. In reality it appears that there's little benefit over standard cables with oilers, so I'll stick with that.
But I cant really justify the purchase if I'm honest. I'm just curious about them.
This rings true to my situation.

Right, ordered the Cannondale CAAD8 105, will build up a Pacenti SL23 rims (450g, 24mm external width) laced to Hope hubs (in gunmetal).
It's nice that it come with mudguard eyelit, but useless if you want bigger than 23c, the rims should allow the tyres to sit lower.

I'm not sure I follow the logic of them for a winter road bike. If the internal sections of cable are greased (I take a dab of grease between my fingers and run it up and down the cable a few times), and the exposed sections can be quickly wiped off. Then there should'nt be any noticable extra work after fitting, and the function isnt going to degrade in the course of a single ride.
The fat bike has 2 sets of cable tie mounts running in a straight line from the bars, down the underside of the TT, and down the ST. One for the rear brake, one for the rear mech. Having continous outers on the mech cable means I dont need to stress about straping on a framebag. I also thought it would allow a quicker, and cleaner, swap to singlespeed. Definitly smells like something that works in my head, yet turns out to be a PITA in reality. All my builds are full of these things (I'm looking at you SwissComp + Powercord set-up).

I'm beginning to hate cables as well, getting a straight answer out of anyone with regards to what you need to run an "official" internal battery is like getting blood out of a stone.

Is it possible to fit the external in a neatermanner if your frame is custom?

I've got the internal battery- well, DHL have it, and should deliver it today.

I need some help. I've been offered a very good deal on a Storck Fenomalist 2010 frameset but am struggling to find info. Does anyone know if the 2010 model had internal cable routing? Ta

I'm struggling to make a decision on this. The offer is NOS frame and fork for £850.
I've always loved Storck frames and worried this might be skewing my judgement so any opinions welcome.

Smallfurry posted a link to a German site which had great deals on new Storck frames - from 899 euros and up.

Hippy, that's your cue to wade in and point out how 'powerful' you are and how you just spit on your bike after every ride before throwing it into the shed, changing cables every millennia and filing down stones into brake blocks etc etc :)
You don't need to quote powerful and you should prefix it with "very".
My bikes all live in my bedroom. Sheds are for cars and dead bodies.
I don't use brake pads, just the holders. Nothing like the sound of metal on metal.HTFU, etc.

£850 seems alot to pay for 2010 NOS crabon frame.
You can get a complete build for just over a grand.
Sounds like yo want the Schtork tho.
Ulimately this will make you happy.

This. And a couple of beers has helped to reduce the uncertainty.
