  • applied for a loan with sainsbury's as soon as I get an approval i'll get that CAAD Dura ace :D

  • this is confusing me now: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bmc/roadracer-sl01-105-compact-2012-road-bike-ec031062?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=froogle

For the same money, carbon, full 105, aksium wheels, just saw it in flesh at Evans, its a fucking beast!

  • To ride them both; is the only way

  • yea taking test ride on BMC after work, they also have a CAAD 10 105 2cm smaller (in 52cm) I am thinking of taking the test ride of that as well.

  • That SuperSix is an epic barg. CAAD10 DA confuses me. The 105 version makes more sense.

  • I think I will also take a test ride on Supersix 105, I guess now its between Supersix 105 vs BMC SL01 105 (BMC has a slightly nicer kit also £300 expensive)

  • Not £300 better IMHO.

  • yea I guess only the test ride will tell, the 54cm BMC that evans has is i think a bit too big for me as it has a 55cm top tube with a 100mm stem and a slight laid back seat post, I currently ride my fixie with 55.1cm effective top tube and a 65mm stem. Sizing is bit strange in BMC below 54cm they have 51cm with 53.5cm top tube .. nothing with 54.5mm top tube

  • I've done it, buying a CAAD10 with 105 this week. So much win.

  • I think I will also take a test ride on Supersix 105, I guess now its between Supersix 105 vs BMC SL01 105 (BMC has a slightly nicer kit also £300 expensive)

Sounds spot on IMHO. Both will ride and fit quite differently, so a quick test ride will clear things up.

    Bloody Cannondale fanboys ;)

  • Good purchase on the Caad 10. Proper bikes, light and tight.

  • Caad 10. Proper bikes, light and tight.

You have to assume that by Mk.10 they have either got it about right or never will.

  • If it aint broke.

Same geo in larger sizes as the evo. So must be doing it right.

  • cannodale's caads, supers etc... have become like the langster iMho.... pretty
much kill the competiton/mass produced, i predict predict haterz because of this @ some point lolz.... but if i had the buck it has 2 be cannondale atm

  • cannodale's caads, supers etc... pretty much kill the competiton/mass produced,

Except that Cannondale swim among the small fry in a global market dominated by Trek, Specialized and Giant

  • Can't find it for the life of me but I read a piece that said Cannondale's OEM factory refused to be responsible for costs of warranty claims on CAAD 10 frames (factories apparently always take the hit on manufacturing claims) as they are so 'on the limit' of whats possible with alu tubes.

  • +1 mdc u knows ur stuff the big 3 =)
@adoubletap... i remember the early mtb days where they had frames cracking lft right centre every one complaining. military grade carbon these days on rd bikes?
    who knows
but i i doubt they have shit warrenties these days

  • I cant see you regretting that^

Needs a 11-25 cassette maybe. I'm a pretty strong cyclist, with a habit of churning a gear higher than I probably should, and I find 50/34 with 11-25 pretty much perfect. I do use the smaller sprockets a lot, and have considered a 52/36 chainring change, but I've never felt I wanted another gear after 50->11

This. I've never found myself ungeared with an 11. Compacts are fine.. Unless you are cat 3+

  • Life time warranty for original owner from cannonade.
    Crash replacement pricing too.

  • Bought CAAD 10 105 :D took it for a lap in regent's park and it was amazing! I have owned many bikes so far (about 8 starting from shitty mountain to van nicholas with ultegra) CAAD was phenomenal when it came to power transfer. I took BMC SL01 for a test ride too but somehow I liked CAAD. Now if the finance thing goes well I will have the bike by Friday! Price matched it at Evans at £999.

Reason I didn't go for CAAD ultegra was because I was happy with the 105 performance. And didnt go for supersix 105 because I read the warranty doc :P CAAD have a lifetime warranty without much fuss

  • Didn't say the buyer's warranty was affected, just who bore the cost of replacements between brand and factory.

  • I bought the Caad10 105 last week.too Great maiden voyage round the Chilterns last Sunday. Dead chuffed.

  • yea I wasnt impressed by the kit esp the lack of 105 calipers and crankset but I guess they can be upgraded later .. £1400 for Ultegra CAAD seems a bit steep, I am not even a fan of carbon cranks anyway.

  • yea I wasnt impressed by the kit esp the lack of 105 calipers and crankset

CAAD10/105 is supposed to have 105 brakes, although if they've saved you money by fitting Tektro of equal quality I wouldn't worry - pads make more difference than calipers anyway. The FSA cranks are not as good as Shimano, but with Cannondale wedded to BB30 and Shimano failing to get aboard, it's inevitable, even without the saving due to Tien Hsin/FSA aggressive OEM pricing.
