Hello,
I own a Kryptonite M18 (long shackle version) for quite a time now and I still haven't found a good way of how to carry it in the times when you do NOT have any bag with you.
Unless my journey is less than a few hundred metres, I always carry a bag. That said, I can't think of when any cycle journey of mine isn't miles long. So, I would need my lock (unless locking inside my home or workplace), spare tube, tyre repair kit (though I no longer need it as my tyres do not puncture), multi-tool, and mini-pump.
The question that strikes me, is HOW do you NOT need a bag to carry at least some of these things?
Go on, surprise me, and tell me that you don't normally cycle with a pump, multitool, or tyre repair kit.

Cheek. I hacked your account of course.
Don't try pinning that on me mate. I know what you're really like. ;)

I've got one of those M18s.
If I'm cycling without a bag, I've got no intention of locking up anywhere.

This most apt point, I fear, will be totally missed by the OP.

Wouldn't the Fabric Horse Fahg Mini holster also work for an M-18 (just a longer version of the mini)?

But I'd imagine you'd need a strong belt. -

darling ickle, does it not come with a mount?**

I have two of these mounts going free if anyone wants 'em.

Or just put a rear rack on and attach the lock there amongst other.

Kryptonite do not offer a bike mount for it

how about through belt loops?

If he goes on cycle rides without tools (just for argument's sake), I doubt he wears a belt.

These mounts that edscoble and hippy mention actually do only fit 16mm, not 18mm like the M18, or am I completely wrong??

build one yourself:

Wouldn't Velcro work? Two on the top tube, and two on the seattube? Just an idea like...........
Mr.H beat me to it.....

Btw, yes, most of the time I actually DO ride without tools, pump, defibrillator and fire-extinguisher.

By the way, (even if I sound very stupid now), what does that mean? Terry Richardson pointing at me ... and?
EDIT: ok, seems like it means "grow some balls" or whatever... yes, funny, but does not answer the problem. no it doesn't.

Its best if you don't know.
The rest of US know, and that's quite enough. Be at peace.

I've saved you from a lot of grief, and a lifetime of shame. I feel like a hero.....or something.
Hello,
I own a Kryptonite M18 (long shackle version) for quite a time now and I still haven't found a good way of how to carry it in the times when you do NOT have any bag with you.
Obviously, as the M18 was designed as a motocycle lock, Kryptonite do not offer a bike mount for it and I guess other motocycle D-locks will raise the same problem?
What's your solution apart from simply using a different lock/chain?
Best,
icke
