  • what armchair you using Ed?

  • i'm more interested in the colourway of ed's sofa.

  • No-one's asking me, but mine can only be a Chesterfield. They make them strong.

  • traditional.

    strong look.

    we've got a sofa bed.

  • which schwalbes you using hippy?

I've got a Marathon Plus 28 on the rear of the Condor.
Bought another two skinnier (25s I think) for when that lets go.
I don't skid much so they are a bit of overkill but they last and last.
Bit sluggish so I decided to try the 25s.

  • Sofa bed ftw

  • But if NOT EVER puncturing is your goal, then buy Halo Courier Berlin tyres.

How can you have abandoned the Maxxis Refuse? they're great and they do not need a wearing in period (which could cause you a sudden attack of death when the HCB are still not gripping properly).

  • Rubino Pro's are ace

  • we've moved on.
    it's about sofas.

  • ...for extra-wide sit bones

  • sofa beds are a jack of all trades and master of none.

    sofa beds for show
sofa and an aero bed for the pros.

  • We don't all live in luxury Ed.. some of us just have to make do.

  • I'm in the Rubino Pro's are wank camp, poor grip in the wet and cut up very easily like most Vittoria's.

Vittoria make lovely race tires (the 320tpi Evo CX tub is amaze), but Conti every time for commuting/training

  • Ban him^^ hippy. He's a heathen.

  • andyp, everyone's opinion is welcome, even if they are wrong. :)

  • We don't all live in luxury Ed.. some of us just have to make do.

aero beds are about £100, and i would happily sleep on mine full time, how much does buying a sofa bed cost on top of a normal sofa?

plus you can take it with you when you go stay with other people.

    affordable luxury ftw

  • I've done thousands of miles (I've been using them continually on a variety of bikes for 4 years) on a huge pile of these tyres and have NEVER had a splitting problem.

    +1

i don't know who to believe?
the armchair theorists or somebody riding 8000-10000 km a year?

    :)

I've just come back from yet another split Rubino pro tyre the day after purchase... this is the second in 3 months (within a week of purchase)

    EVIDENCE http://www.lfgss.com/thread40135.html

    F*CKING WANK F*CKING TYRES!!!!

    raaagh

FFS. spend your time learning to ride and maintain your bike instead of posting misinformation on the internetz, you knobjockey.

  • I have rubino pro's on five bikes, randonneurs on the other three. guess which camp I'm in...?

  • I don't get on well with Rubino pro's- their quality control is terrible.
I've had really good ones and aweful ones.
Spesh Armadillo 32s on my current town bike (quinn)
Vittoria Randonneur Trail 38s on my touring/ Freekhouse
and when I get it I'll be putting GP4ks or Pro Races, because they are awesome and worthy of road bikes.

  • I have rubino pro's on five bikes, randonneurs on the other three. guess how camp I am...?

    Dunno. Just tell us already.

  • Never had a Puncture on Rubino Pro's and i wore one tyre on the front almost to down the casing.
    Unbelievable really.
Grip isn't the best, but I'll trade that for light bombproof tyres, which is what they are.

  • I've done 800 miles on Rubino Pros and got my first puncture yesterday

  • I've got about 600 miles on a new set of rubino pros and they seem 100% fine, use normal rubinos for every day use and never had any problems.

    Bad luck?
